Most people don't realize that with the advent of neodymium magnets, that it was paramount in the design of small powerful motors. These motors are now used in automobiles, aircraft and the military for almost everything that was once mechanically operated.

How is neodymium magnetized?

This is good, but I was hoping it would delve a bit more into why neodymium itself at the atomic level is good for this purpose compared to other elements.

USA buys neodymium from China.
Mining is not allowed in the USA as thorium gets as a biproduct.
Big fossilfuel is terrified for developing the MSR reactor. TMSR was developed in the US . The solution for energy demands the comming 1000 years. Clean and safe energy.
Fossil fuels will be obsolete and control over the world economy will be lost.
TMSR was prohibited by Nixon 1970. All research was ordered to be destroyed.

The big problem of all of this rare earth magnets ist, that China has a production monopol on it. In small devices like harddiscs or small drones motors such magnets are unavoidable. But especially in larger engines like in car motors or windturbine permanent magnets are not neccesarly needed. Car motors can be build as traditional synchron machines, were the exiting current is transmitted with high frequence transformators. This pure iron/cooper machines can be controlled in excitation strength and deliver sometimes better performance results than permanent magnet motors. And in Wind turbines permanent magnets are really not needed. Take a modern designed but traditional synchrone machine. Worked in the past best and could be further used, to reduce dependency on chinese made materials. The western world is still very reluctant to build up an own mining and refinment industry to get rid off being dependend on china stuff.

Our biggest problem is high population 8 billion of greedy selfish gluttonous invasive human pset species. Is there any way to reduce their numbers ❓❓❓

The demand for the need of these minerals is what is driving the space exploration. There is hope that rocks like the moon will contain many valuable minerals and potentially new minerals that can be used. Interesting cycle, technology development driving human dependancy on technology that drived more technology development that drives the demand for more minerals.

They were originally designed in order to be able to make electricronics smaller with more power. Mainly motors and mobile phones.

When I was younger magnets used in everyday stuff were Alnico. They seemed pretty strong, but don't come close to what's commonly available today.
