Had the hair. Had the looks. Had the voice. Had the guitar skills. Sadly, misguided by the industry, and then dropped when it didn’t work. Like Mellencamp’s early career.
Mickey and the rodent Queen" ... LOL, I don't know why that's funny, but it just is ...
ОтветитьTotaly could play. Roadhouse film.,bob dylan. Maybe a stevie vay. I reckon john mayer knows of him. Even john is way more jazz & blues.
ОтветитьKeith forsey was sort of under the radar folks. If u know ure late 70s, early 80s music!
ОтветитьDid u guys enjoy charlie on the hughes film "some kind of wonderful" probably the best soundtrack 80s teen film.
ОтветитьIts my understanding that Charlie DID make it big, although not commercially. I believe he did studio work and wrote for the likes of Dylan and other big names and worked big time behind the scenes.
ОтветитьAhead of his time-- he would have torn up American Idol in the 00's and it still holds up, so fresh and a such a clean voice.
Ответитьcool
ОтветитьShould have been bigger…
ОтветитьMasterpiece 80´s song !! Underrated !
Ответить84...AUSTIN TEXAS BABY!!!!
ОтветитьAnyone know who's the director of the video?
ОтветитьSometimes, a person can be too perfect and outshine all others knowing this he is content to just let it be known and then step back and enjoy his life.... that is the legacy of Charlie Sexton.....he had it all....
ОтветитьDavid Bowie nurtured this kid, love it, but after Bowie left that was it..
ОтветитьWhat a gorgeous man. Looks like a male Angelina Jolie and sounds like Bowie.
ОтветитьI had the absolute pleasure of meeting not only Charlie but Bob Dylan as well in Perth, Australia 2001. Charlie was a top bloke; Bob was a grumpy little man.
ОтветитьDavid Bowie had this covered, But its fucking great
ОтветитьHe was my first concert in Eugene when I was...13? And now at 50. I'm emotional. Charlie and I spent many hours together in my crucial years. Not literally, of course. Sadly.
I waited close to 4 hours after the show to catch a glimpse . Got chased by security. Took my camera and when i decided to fight authority. Memories. I'm going to try like hell to meet him now at 50! Wish me luck at McMenamins June 2nd. I'm just putting it out there.
❤
Trying to find Alice in chains would
ОтветитьThe Charlie Sexton revival continues further apace.
I would swear his name rings out (Someone mentions his name) or I have one of his videos turn up somewhere in my social media feed.
I can't think of anyone who deserves a comeback or comeup thirty-some odd years after his initial debut...
French-like facial features. Charlie was very popular in Japan at the time of his debut. It's been a while since I've seen his videos, but his singing is good. He has aged very well.
I used to admire Texas. Now Texas seems to be in trouble with illegal immigrants.
He should’ve been in the exact same category and fame that Billy Idol achieved
ОтветитьSuch an 80’s icon. ❤ I don’t want to sound old but most of today’s music just doesn’t have any soul in it.
ОтветитьSaw them perform this at the Star theater in Youngstown as the second set following Donnie Iris, in 1985.
They never topped the energy of that show, and yet Donnie Iris is in his seventies now and still kicking butt.
I love it. Never heard this before but this is exactly the style of 80s I have been looking for . Came up by accident looking for a scene out of taxi driver . 😂
Ответитьやっぱり大好きだなー❤
ОтветитьHe has heart throb looks definitely. His singing and guitar playing rivals many of the masters of today and yesterday.Maybe more so.He had it all but was never lifted to stardom.Very sad.I know the world misses you Charlie.
Ответитьsooooo many memories attached to this song throughout lo these many years. omg. i’m so
ОтветитьCharlie! Where have you been????? PLEASE consider touring!
ОтветитьHe was on MTV, but he wasn’t promoted enough.
ОтветитьHe went a played a huge part of Bob Dylan's never ending tour. He played guitar for Bob. Since the mid nineties.
ОтветитьMe and a friend saw him in Seattle on this tour at the Paramount. He was amazing. Not sure how he never blew up to be a superstar but I will never forget that show. He was 16 I think at the time.
ОтветитьI think myself a lucky guy knowing this cool song when young.
Ответить...how blessed we were to had been teenagers then ugh...💪
ОтветитьWritten by the underrated Tonio K.
ОтветитьI like how Charlie’s hair gets wet in the rain but that girls hair stays dry
ОтветитьNot a has been though, played behind Bob Dylan - for instance - so no slouch
ОтветитьI grew up in Austin...friends with Charlie & Will. Good times on 6th Street...back before it became L.A. pt 2
ОтветитьOne of my mother and I’s favourite songs. We’d sing the lyrics at each other loudly. You were 54 years too young mumma. I’m alone at 23 singing the lyrics now. Wherever she is, I hope she’s singing them back at me still
Ответить❤👍
Ответить🏴☠️🦅🏴☠️
Ответитьgood artist ruined by 19080s production methods, would like to hear this recorded today.
ОтветитьStill one of my favorite, I just don't understand why he dissapear that fast. That song is still Great!

この曲最高じゃないか!
チャーリー・セクストン
かっこいいぜ!
it was always a mystery to me that after 2 hits he was gone he had everything to make it to household name status
ОтветитьFlowers for Algernon
ОтветитьWhy wasn't he bigger? He had it all. The dude could flat out ROCK!
ОтветитьStewart copland is old school. A real percussionst.❤him
