these guys sound a whole lot like this band from the early 90s called goober and the peas that had a country sound mixed with a hardcore or punk influence also. Shelton even sounds a lot like their lead singer who's name escapes me right now. If u like this, then absolutely check out goober and the peas because they have some really great songs.

Nice one. I saw Shelton from his very start live on stage, unnamed opener for Beck on the Sexx Laws tour. I lost my mind! Saw him countless times after. When he started the half country/half hardcore sets he'd be so polite. "Y'all here for country, I'll give you 15 minutes to go, you ain't gonna enjoy what's next". Shows that lasted forever, the amazing Joe Buck, he killed. In November I'm seeing Shelton's good buddy & King of Western Swing Wayne Hancock with Hank IV and the Strange Band. Expecting an rockin' good time. I don't believe we'll see Shelton on the road or on vinyl again, I'm glad I saw him constantly for so long. He's a rad guy.

The guy is so talented man, My favorite of the Hanks although I love them all, But three and Waylon Jennings are the two goats of outlaw country music in my opinion and I love outlaw country! It's my favorite genre of music, But three can do it all. He's played in every genre that I like!

I have to wonder how many of these Country clubs are still open? If I was him I would have told the owner, "do you realize my bloodline? I am Hank the 3rd! You can kiss my ass!" He made them money. Plenty of clubs have different genres do gigs there regardless of the theme. Sounds bigoted and stupid to run a club that way. I am sure some if not all these venues are closed now.

PFF is a perfect example of what makes Hank III stand out, that hardcore underground punk influence. We have a country "club" near me, they do 1-2 nights a month of punk/emo/hardcore because of legends like Hank III making it a real thing that ended up being begrudgingly accepted
