100% agreed. Not knowing what your prize cards only eats up more game time so you can figure out what your prize cards are

Agree with the prize. A medium/good player already know what are the prize with the 1st search. Would let everyone lose less time.

I'm a strong advocate for an 'optional mulligan' to avoid one-sided games because of certain unspoken rules and card prints. The unspoken rule being a free turn of 2min deck search to prize check and card prints that are/were too powerful in the first place. Battle Vip Pass just to name something.
Edit: Looking at prize cards before shuffling and setting them down would eliminate the 2min+ free 1st turn deck search that often occurs regardless of the 15-second ruling. It would make Judges enforce the pace of play, which is also cool.

I like this. Ive always vouched for a town map reprint, it was innocuous enough and felt more like a quality of life improvement if you could manage to fit it in and find it.

I always thought the idea of drawing a 13 card hand and picking the 6 prizes would be interesting. It might be terrible in practice tho idk

The prize card change is a great idea. Theres enough complexity to analyzing many lines of play as a game develops. Top players just survey their deck and write down their prizes, this just saves time.

How about: to start the game, draw 13 and set 6 of them as your prize cards

I would like prize cards to become "points" that you get so that you don't prize something that's critically important, but I do agree with looking at the prize cards. Players could just immediately take a quick note in like 10-15 seconds of what's prized, and then games continue as normal without wondering what is prized or taking time to prize check.

I absolutely agree about the prize cards but I'm not sure about the seeding thing

Check out Hololive card game for a modern spin on the pokemon card game system.

Decks use a leader card, energy is not in the main deck, and your opponent takes the prize when you knock them out.

Not saying any of these need to be changed in the pokemon TCG, just showing how the game might look if it came out today

When I brought this up online - every response was "prize checking is a skill" and like, yeah, memory is a skill...but not a particularly interesting one. That's why note taking is allowed. Just being able to check your prizes would help speed up matches by a lot.

I feel like the better play will always win, in thought of price checking. So often that i go to tournaments, they over commit and lose because they checked poorly.

But hell yes, saving like idk 5 6 7 8 minutes from just pricechecking is so good. Sadly they wont ever do that.

Why are tera poke immune to bench damage?

Side deck to be able to swap out cards with the main deck between games so not 90% of the decks are crowded with 1-of techs for certain matchups. I understand that's not possible since in some countries like Japan they play Bo1 and not Bo3, so it wouldn't be applicable to them.

Still I think it would be cool although not realistic, because basically every physical TCG out there has that, at least all the ones that I know.

Prizes would speed up the game. The fact players take to long to search and judges are scared to rule against them

I agree with everything except for picking first or second. The lower player might only be lower because of a coin flip. Best to leave that alone

Then your opp would play as per what you have in prize. Cause they could be looking as well. I would say rather pref only 6 blank cards as prize card and play with 60 playable cards as a whole

Mulligans would take so much of the stress out of the game. I used to play dbs competitively and getting that mulligan at the start of the game was a life saver half the time. You draw a bricked ass hand and instead instantly thinking this game is fucked you can try again. Mulligans in Pokemon would change everything

easy fix, allow a mulligan on the pc game.. so you dont get stuck with a support mon as your only basic
