I hope to see better Ips Tv from Lg during next years. Lg is leader in Oled, but I think Samsung is better in Led Tvs (VA from them).

I bought this TV for a basement cinema room, wrong decision, its better suited to brighter rooms, as black rendition is very poor....in dark environments this is noticeable especially when you watch widescreen movies....as the bands above and below the movie don’t look black....and you struggle to see detail in dark scenes...

Its A backlit IPS panel with no local dimming....hence the poor black reproduction.

It does however look amazing when moved to our living room, because blacks look deeper in a brighter environment, and this TV excels in producing bright vivid colours (struggles with blacks) but because its so bright when watching in daylight, you don’t perceive the graying looking blacks.

If its going in a dark room go for a tele with a VA panel (backlit not edge-lit) or if you can afford it OLED....IPS panels are better suited for use in daylight / gaming although some VA panels have very reasonable input lag...

One last thing any tv over 50 inches should be backlit, avoid edgelit tvs over this size, panel uniformity can be horrible On large edge lit panels.....

Nanocell 90! The BEST! 4 HDMI PORTS 2 @ 120 hz for all gamers and it's 2.1. TV will last for years pic speaks for itself, has everything but must be the Nanocell90 to get all the bells and whistles you put it side by side with the OLED can barely tell the difference in picture.
