R.I.P Mr. Romero

First we need to STOP calling the Living Dead zombies.

A "zombie" is a dead body or human being under control of Voodoo magic or potions, that does the will of it's master. Look to those old Universal studios horror movies with Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff for the Zombie.

Romero introduced us not to the Zombie, BUT to the Living Dead:

Creatures NOT under control of an external force, who move on their own and respond to neither command nor authority, and they prey on humans. They are NOT cannibals either. Cannibalism is an inter-species activity, and since the Living Dead aren't human, they can't be considered as cannibals.

And then we have the myriad of quick rip-off movies on SyFy, like "Rise Of The Dead". If Romero returns for ANY reason, it should be to protest what Hollywood and special-interest funded stations like SyFy have done to his vision.

I know this is sad, I miss him just as much as any Zombie fan. But as a Zombie fan considering the genre of film he worked in it's safe to say that we may have to shoot him in the head. According to Romero's rules of Zombie ressurection, the dead come back to life so long as it's not a brain trauma related death. George died of lung cancer. Ergo there is a chance we may see him again very soon if you know what I mean.......

The guy went from making a classic and instantly getting fame,making commercials,was so famous and related to zombies that COD gave him a map dedicated to him,got more famous off his hard work,and years later we sit here still loving him

His resting place is just an hour from me. Sometime in August I'll be visiting it and pay my respects to this great man.

I heard an interview with Mr. Romeros wife about 9 months after his passing. She said in Georges final days he said..."No one is going to care about what I created after I am gone". That broke my heart. Romero along with Stephen King ignited my life long love of horror. As long as anyone knows what a zombie is the name George Romero will be spoken in that conversation. Thank you Mr. Romero for giving me the most thrilling times I have ever had watching a film.

Devastated by the news that the father of the zombie genre has died. He is more than just a good horror filmmaker. People like these should not be taken man. RIP George😞
