Sacrificing Industrial Autonomy would be a disaster should we be din a full scale war. how can you replace these vehicles if shipping is being attacked or the Country we're buying them from is replacing it's own lost vehicles. I'm relaxed about buying small amounts from abroad, but 2000? really? This woud be a massive boost for our economy if we build our own vehicles.

I think we did that years ago. It's a global world after all.

If you’re afraid to spend on your local industry, then you’re bound to buy from other countries.

You buy local, then, you improve on it, however you’re so afraid of getting it wrong, you don’t invest in your own industry. When you don’t invest, so you’ll never get the knowledge to ever get it right. You will keep buying foreign. It’s a downward spiral. It happens in all industry.

French, like them or not, kept investing in their own industry, eventually they built their knowledge and skills, so they became better at it.

That’s why when I hear people say “buy off the shelf”, they are not looking at the future. It’s such a narrow minded thought process.

Nope.

We should expand on the Foxhound platform & Supacats armoured cab version of the Coyote.

Not worth £300k+ a pop (bare bones). The French may be too stubborn about it sometimes, but they go for 100% nationally designed and built.
