Should you Buy a Lexus LS? Is it still as good as the original LS400?

There are 3 packages of the new LS. Base, Luxury & Executive & the non base models are over 100K. The car looks good on the outside & inside but the quality is not there. This is my 3rd LS & it's by far the lowest quality one. at 23K miles the AC had a problem, at 46K miles the brake system & rear axles had problems & at 50k miles the actuator gave out. This model makes a clunking noise when you hit the brakes hard & makes clunking noise when you change the gears & Lexus told me that all the newer models from 2018 make the same noise. I drove other LSs & that was the case! Thankfully it was under warranty & I didn't have to pay for anything. We'll see what other issues it will have when the mileage goes up.

LS 500 is King Of The Road.... everything else is a very distant second.

Only thing is I wish it had was the V8 from the IS500. It should have it instead of the TTV6.

I had a LS430 and I have a LS 460L. The 430 is the best car ever produced. The 460L with reclining back seats is the ultimate road trip machine

Trying to appreciate mine but today seems the alternator went out....no abs..no brakes....hard steering and generator warning on.

Just watched this video. I recently gave up my 2016 Mercedes S550 for 2019 Lexus LS50. Mercedes is so much nicer inside but the reliability I have now is worth it. If Mercedes would just learn from Toyota and build quality along with the elegance. LS500 so far is proving to be as much a luxury brand as Mercedees and Audi. Great video.

I own a 2016 LS 460 and there is nothing about that 3.4 L V6 TwinTurbo that says come buy me. Does this new version look nicer yes it does but in my opinion it’s very overpriced and what was not talked about is all the issues that motor has been having over the years. I’m not a fan of turbos so I plan on keeping my 460 as long as I can.

Hi sir. Would you recommend buying one from 2020 with 55k miles? I looked at the carfax and it has been serviced well, but the twin turbo has me worried. I own an Audi RS7 and it requires a lot of maintenance due to being a turbo model.

As a Lexus fan Specially the LS but no way I will grab this thing over the S class when it’s brand new it doesn’t make any sense cause they have the same reliability for the first 4 years while they’re under factory warranty unless if it used 6 years or older then I will look up for an same generation Lexus LS

Own an 07 ls460 92k miles....no issues other than a peeled roof drip rail and a few interior cracks....materials should have been better on dash and door panels...car is RWD....runs like a clock....

Best luxury vehicle I've ever gotten. I've recently picked up a 2020 Lexus LS500, and it is the softest and nicest vehicle to take out on road trips or even a trip to the grocery store. I've gotten so many compliments on it as well.

It's a little bit of a crime to have a v6 in a flagship motor. I know it's a good one but really you've got to have a v8 or v12 in a car of this calibre. That would give a bit more sense of occasion like they did with the amazing interior.

Wish Lexus starts using metallic buttons instead of plastic buttons based on the premium they charge.
Also get rid off shrek ears like driving mode knobs and their failed touchpad.

Follow up on my first review, in the past 11 months the ABS, LTA, Ped cross, Sec Brake malfunction/warning signs have been coming on. The dealer replaced several parts & it still has issues. The LS500 is junk.

I just bought a 2014 ls460 with 160k miles. Very well taken care of always serviced at lexus i have all the maintenance records. Absolutely a great car to drive im blown away. Sadly i am now going to sell my 2004 ls430 with 325k miles. Still looks and drives great. Dont want to sell it but i dont need 3 cars.

AMD. How is the maintenance cost and reliability with the 2018 Lexus LS 500 AWD with air suspension compared to the Lexus LS 460 you previously reviewed?

Love my lexus' over the years, but for a car so awesome i wish they would do a better job with there sheet metal, Toyota and lexus look so generic. Their looks should match there reliability, over the top!

I own several LS models. 430. 460. I don’t like that front end. Awful.

The ls600hl 5.0l v8 hybrid was a pinnacle. Why don't lexus maintain that platform and install turbo in it??!!!!
