There is usually a difference in the FBI Uniform Crime Report and victimization surveys. The UCR records crimes that are reported to law enforcement agencies and a lot of crime goes unreported to those agencies. Usually to get the best picture of what the crime rate looks like, you need a combination of the victimization surveys and the UCR or similar data

This is propaganda. Remember everyone: China and Russia are our enemies and they absolutely hate our twelve nuclear powered aircraft carriers and would love to weaken us with the internet.

Bs. Crimes are not being recorded as crimes, so of course the figures look that way. But nice try at gaslighting us.
What's next, gas is now cheaper than before brandon took office? 🤡

So then New York sent the national guard to their subways to celebrate how little crime there is? Oh OK then.

Local LEO's are no longer reporting the crime data to the FBI. You're looking at bad data

How about how cities like LA have 5x the murders of smaller cities but you lefties tack on the "per 100k" thing to make it not seem as bad despite it being worse.

What about the 6000 city's that did not turn in any crime data at all? Most of the largest crime centers didnt take part in the study. If you add them in it will show a large jump in crime.

Let’s see first major cities are not reporting all crimes. Cant say there are crimes when there are no reports or arrests, right?
So how much did the administration pay you?

Gonna be real, if I saw those graphs presented to me normally, my first thought would be to attribute the uptick to random variation

Large cities (including Chicago, NYC and LA) are not submitting police crime data to the feds.

While this is accurate nationally, remember this is an average of all national crime.

Some cities are experiencing an increase in crime that is lost in national averages. For instance, my city has US Marshals patrolling the streets specifically due to gun violence.

My once peaceful suburb has endured two random shootings in the past month. Prior, no real serious crimes occurred.

I’m happy to hear there is a decrease; however, it’s important to highlight how drastically location impacts your experience.

I wonder what motivation the mainstream media would have in depicting a massive spike in violent crime and focusing on minorities.

Yea people forget how these numbers are made and also forget the nuances of how this data is collected, if they really cared then they’d file and report everything but cops hate paperwork 😳

They manipulate crime data by turning felonies into misdemeanors. And then tell victims they wont prosecute misdemeanors. So then victims dont report the crimes

Nobody should be paying attention to crime reporting data mostly because the US has a horrible track record of accountability of recording the data. Currently the Biden administration likes to report that crime is down when compared to other presidencies but this information needs to be taken with a grain of salt because crime data is much more accurately reported now then it has ever been. We shouldn't be trusting Biden and other presidencies present as crime data until there is a federal system that can accurately display crime data from the whole country without bias or misrepresentation.

Fun fact: according to FBI statistics 63% of violent crime is committed by black people who represent about 13% of the population. They further broke this down by sex and showed that over half of all violent crime is committed by black males who represent just over 6% of the population.
