We are experiencing what appears to be an early start to our rain/typhoon season in the Philippines. Downpours nearly every afternoon. The water volume is so great that the street drains can not keep up. Only after the rain subsides, will water on the roads drain off. When local dams are full to capacity, a water release might be a necessity to control overpressure and that can lead to serious flooding. Not a good time to venture out. We hope the dams are well guarded against any and all possible threats?

For this months major stock-up shopping, I have asked Beautiful Bride to add each family members favorite comfort items. We find that a few simple things can split up a long boring day when you are hunkered down during an emergency situation. Mini-me, approaching six (6) years old loves breaking out his esbit style pocket stove and brewing up some of our DIY hot chocolate. Mom, do not forget the hot chocolate ingredients! The Old Man enjoys a freshly brewed cup of caffeine, and sometimes a hot tea. Honestly, I am feeling good about our level of family preparedness. We have the maps, document files, and decent quality gear with the knowledge of how to use it. The real test will be how well a young child and several old folks perform if we do fall under an attack?

I’m a water plant operator in Texas. I just came back from a convention that presented cyber security in the infrastructure. I can tell you that we are so screwed. Specially the small water treatment systems. The way China sees it, they are already at war with us. Through cyber world. They outnumber us 50 to 1! They could wipe us out so easily. I came back terrified and am currently working in updating our ERP.

Sarah Adams has said Al Qaeda will launch coordinated attacks here in the US this year. A combination of suicide bombers and gunmen in multiple cities/locations all at the same time. Not just at infrastructure sites like power stations, but also restaurants, malls, any crowded areas. If that happens the chaos that comes will be nothing like this country has seen. Emergency services would be overwhelmed.
