Your video content is great but I'm here for the cute pupper in the background. 😊
ОтветитьI can’t stop eating nuts and honey, that’s my go to
ОтветитьMe eating ultraprocessedfood while watching this:
ОтветитьA lot of this is how you were raised. I don’t see UPFs as “food.” For me they’re either bad tasting junk or an occasional treat. That’s because growing up my mom cooked meals from scratch, and often the most processed ingredient in the whole meal was dried pasta. Something like an Oreo was a treat for after you were finished eating. It was an unspoken rule that except for pantry staples “food” didn’t come from the middle aisles.
Unfortunately so many parents don’t either the knowledge, time, or energy to do that. These companies fill that unfortunate gap.
"It's almost impossible for a child or even 14-15 years olds to override this biology for very long." Queen you're not wrong, but it's not just kids, for so many adults it's near impossible to override the biology that many of these foods have been designed from the ground up to exploit.
ОтветитьI'm happy that someone tells the truth.❤ Thank you
ОтветитьMy friends son who is 5 years old (I was babysitting) has a juice box once a day One day he was having a hard time listening so I told him he could not have a juice box at lunch He was telling me juice is healthy because there are pictures of fruit on the box I told him “the juice people are playing tricks on you to steal momma’s money and that’s why it’s only a treat” I lost 100 pounds 5 years ago and my friends son will bring up that fact during these conversations which is helpful to explain things He understands I used to be big and I’m not big anymore because I stopped eating McDonald’s and other junk unless it’s an occasional treat which is why I’m no longer big
ОтветитьI love junk and fast food, but only eat it once in a while. Hard to resist sometimes.
ОтветитьYou know its gonna be a dark vid when Foodie Beauty is the first thing you see
ОтветитьWe all had access to ultra processed food as kids.
ОтветитьVoiceovers in the 80s sounded so dark and evil.
Ответитьthe problem is People do NOT know what food is. Food does not come in boxes and sealed bags!
ОтветитьVery informative. And disturbing at the same time. At 62 years of age. In good health and physically fit. Yet still see some eating habits that are somewhat addictive.. Being a runner of 40 years. My demon food is cliff bars. Some days i would eat 4 to 6 a day. After the video, just read the ingredients. Its junk promoted as health. Just tossed the rest in the trash. Rude awakening for me.
ОтветитьHi, I love your videos and I mean this as a genuine comment. I dont even really understand the ins and outs of what "processed" food is, so hearing "ultra-processed" several times at the start is very confusing to understand what exactly is being discussed. I am sure that this becomes more clear as the video progresses, and I could of course research the topic myself, but just as a casual viewer that landed here, it does dissuade me a bit from continuing.
Sorry, I am bad at explaining things and fixate a lot on words, it just felt like it was an important thing to mention because I hear the phrase "processed" constantly, online and in person, and I feel like everyone has a different perspective on what that means. I would love to see a video on the topic!
Thank you for the video and all of your hard work to spread knowledge!
My parents only ate junk food and never taught me healthy eating. I developed a poor lifestyle health condition that I didnt want so i stopped eating unhealthy and started eating healthy and that was it. People are too happy to be victims and blame someone or something for their poor decisions. No one steers my ship but me and if you want to be victim to another bad captain that isnt you thats your own fault.
ОтветитьI think about all those babies eating cheerios! OMG
ОтветитьThe arguments by the food industry sound the same like the ones the tobacco industry came up with?
Ответитьand when i say this my friends call me a republican -_-
Ответить" I have no self control what so ever so I blame it on every one and everything else " 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI got my diet right and was eating better foods, not diet food. One day day I wanted sausage McMuffin so I got a combo. It was crazy that it didn't satisfy my hunger AT ALL. So i was done with the UPFs after that.
ОтветитьMy opinion is that 95% or more of people are addicted to ultra processed food. Just because they aren't having tantrums doesn't mean they aren't.
Adults can buy what they want when they want. Watch how many tantrums get thrown if those people lost access to that food for even a few days.
It's why food advertisements literally used the phrase "hangry". They know how most people get.
food companies, 'let's make food as addictive as possible to increase profits. But what if we get sued for poisoning them? oh, we'll just tell them not too eat too many 'calories,' and then we'll blame them for lack of willpower when they fail. Yea that'll work. They will blame themselves instead of us, nice
ОтветитьThe doggo!! ❤
ОтветитьThat's a cute dog pillow you have in the background
ОтветитьNo offence, but please name the addictive compound in ultra processed food? Is meat addictive also? I know a few people who tried being vegetarians but failed because eating meat is convinient and meat is tasty, we do not have an epidemic of meat addiction, do we? Applying your idiotic logic we have a meat eating epidemic. People are lazy, fat people are lazier and do not really care about their health until the shit hits the fan. Creating this UPF addiction myth out of thin air does not solve the problem of people being lazy, fat, ignorant and bad at parenting.
ОтветитьIts to the point now that in America being skinny is offensice to ppl
ОтветитьIt happened to me and currently on day two of getting off of the shit
Ответить3 days in on my water only fast and watching this makes me want to keep going.
ОтветитьI thought I cut out ultra-processed foods and then you hit me with the truth about yogurt 😭
Ответитьthis is the fault of capitalism once again, companies need to sell regardless of consequences....it s sad
ОтветитьIf only we could have one parent stay at home and cook nutritious meals for their children, having themselves learned to cook from a young age… It is so hard to find parents like that
ОтветитьI would think that the vegetarian versions of things would also be ultra processed. The sad thing is the solution is homemade foods , even homemade desserts . But people now don’t have the time .
ОтветитьI was trying really hard not to eat UPFs but then i got ill and couldn't stand. So rather than sitting on a chair to chop vegetables i got ready meals, takeaway and anything quick and easy. Trying too phase them out now but the convenience still makes them tempting
ОтветитьPlease cover “freaky eaters”
ОтветитьHad to go and heat myself some Vienna sausages, something like a hot dog style. And an apple. When pork can go with apple sauce, I'll have an apple with pork sausages LOL.
ОтветитьFunnily enough, drug dealers often hang outside places that sell ultra processed food. I used to be able to get cigarettes, heroin, and little Debbie all at the same spot. Those were hard times
ОтветитьFor over a decade i thought i was addicted to food and felt that i couldn't control my eating habits/weight. I even tried overeaters anonymous but it didn't help.
This year i read Rational Recovery by Jack Trimpey and its changed my life. I've lost 20 pounds since the end of Jan and i don't have to stress about being around "trigger" foods any more.
Im gutted i didn't know about the book sooner. Highly recommend it.
Cheetos.
ОтветитьI’m telling you, give it up for 30 day and when you try it again, you can taste the chemicals. When I gave up soda and had some much later, I spit it out it was so disgusting. Same with chips and pretzels. Take away the salt and they’re awful.
ОтветитьTo the executives and food scientists designing and then denying the addictive nature of UPFs - I want to see what's in your pantry and in your kid's lunchbox.
ОтветитьI would suggest eating the species specific, species appropriate diet but most people are so addicted to sugar they don't want to hear it.
ОтветитьI've beaten hard drug addiction, i still crave mcdonald's chilli cheese bites as they are limited run in the UK lol, these foods are no joke.
ОтветитьI primarily eat single ingredient foods. Have for about a year. I straight up eat until I’m stuffed and am 6’2 180. I have my moments with sweets, usually on the weekend, and feel like crap every slip up
ОтветитьYour claim about fortified foods isn’t exactly true. The bioavailability of nutrients from fortified foods vs. natural foods varies and depends on what nutrients you are talking about. Vitamin B12 fortified foods have been shown to absorb better than B12 from animal products. Iron fortified foods however absorb more poorly than meat sources.
Ответить40% are obese in the usa so at least 40% is addicted
ОтветитьI hate it so bad when people say that junkfood is cheaper than good food. Maybe that was true 30 years ago, but it's just plain false now, to the point that I have to wonder who's paying people to say that crap. It's especially frustrating to hear those falsehoods in the face of the insane fastfood price-hikes. Find out how much a Big Mac meal weighs w/o the packaging, now compare it to chicken thighs, rice, potatoes and flashfrozen microwave bags of vegetables. The amount of good food you can buy for the price of fastfood trash is INSANE after the price-hikes!
ОтветитьIt is wild. I definitely don’t keep a lot of processed foods in my apartment. I don’t know what you’d call Rice cakes but other than that all my snacks if any are real food. I was very lucky to have parents who had real food in the house so I’ve always saw these as taboo and only at friends house. I do love cheese it’s though. I sneak those in every now and then
Ответитьwho is the pig in the beginning?
ОтветитьJeffery looks like the bloat Lord himself. Respecc to Jeff. He just needs to start lifting weights and he would become a force to be reckoned with.
ОтветитьI need chips now. Just gonna slice some potatoes and throw them in oil. Salt,...lots😊
Ответить
