I’ll bet the pencil through at distance as had to do with the angle of attack (the bullit pointed upwards as it arced down on target. Conjecture if you hit it straight on it it would have expanded.
ОтветитьI hear the same nonsense you hear all over from green horns is powder had to be reduced.
Powder can only be to the level acceptable for that bullet weight and there no magical more power than what the load data requires for a bullet weight using many of the types of powder requires different weights of powders for a charge of powder
I hope we all learned something about the channels that just use the clear gel and not the ordinance gel.
ОтветитьLike to see it feeds from magazine boys
ОтветитьI think it's kick a$$. What are your thoughts on the discontinued Federal TLR Edge in comparison to this bore rider projectile. ?
Kind regards.
Daniel
Love my 300 wsm. Built this gun on a Remington 40 XBR action. With Rifle basic 2 1/2 lbs trigger on a Hogue over molded stock. My first group with 150 grain Nosler boat tail .700" . 180 grain Nosler Accubond going 3024 fps. This is my Elk round and rig.
ОтветитьYou guys are very creative. Improving existing cartridge chambering to get the most out of a bullets design is the way to go.
ОтветитьNifty concept but not worth it and nobody should be hunting long range
ОтветитьSo, they basically took 300 WSM and did the same thing Browning and Winchester did with the 270 WSM by making the 6.8 Western. I love my 6.8, some of the other ammo manufacturers need to produce some ammo for it.
ОтветитьHere we go... the next best thing. The next big commercial failure.
ОтветитьDoes it feed pretty well?
ОтветитьMark needs to show off his off-hand steel chicken shooting skills with the new rifle!
Ответитьlove the build and video.
ОтветитьThat is an insane load!
Massive performance at long range, excellent performance at close range and it looks like the recoil is relatively light!
Monster load. Nice job guys.
Omg. What is it with insufferable 6.8 western fan boys? You could be talking about a new 12 gauge turkey load, and somewhere in the comments will be, "I'll take my 6.8 Western". Total lack of interest in any innovations. Or ballistic coefficients. Just 5 fps more muzzle velocity and yep! It's the best! No one would ever create something new if everyone was so boring. You can't watch any long range videos on any extremely high bc bullets, unlike. 277, and there they are!🤤😂
ОтветитьI created my own reamer for the exact same thing. Was not impressed. Would take either 7 PRC or 300 PRC instead.
ОтветитьAnd I could not help it. During the first part of the segment, I had to sing "We Will Rock You" by Queen.
"Buddy, you're a young man, hard man
Shouting in the street, gonna take on the world someday"
Anyway, I like the idea of building a rifle around not just a caliber but around a specific bullet for a specific job. Nothing against my .308 W rifles and general factory loads at 300 yards and less. This was a neat adventure, though. And yes, it would be neat to see if Mark or Ryan hunts with this and what the results are. @Vortex Nation
😂 I already did this a long time ago.
ОтветитьWorked on a 300wsm on a ar build for a few years...
A young girl could handle it.
Berger does well close and far though. Bigger operating window. But I do like Barnes for some things.
ОтветитьWe need bore riders for 270wsm!!
ОтветитьIf 300WM can't do it it is called PRC
ОтветитьVery cool 👍
ОтветитьAnnnndddddd. Out comes the checkbook……………
ОтветитьNow barns just needs to get the gun manufacturers to chamber the short mags in standard length actions.
ОтветитьI am really enjoying your content. The 6 ARC video was incredible. This video was its equal in every way. You cover the technical aspects in an entertaining way. Please keep them coming!!
ОтветитьBUT…..how does it stack up to the 6.5 BC?
ОтветитьJust because you can doesn't mean you should. It sounds like hitting the blocks was tough at best at 900 yards. You owe it to the animal to dispatch it quickly and trouble hitting a vital size area on gel tells me don't try it at that distance.
ОтветитьRecoil looks pretty mild with the supressor
ОтветитьIt😊
ОтветитьSo behind the hyperbole, the build is a:
-long action 300wsm
-sammi chamber
-using a long ass bullet that won't mag feed
Perfect shooting form by both and really phenominal accuracy. I love seeing the guys show they aren't just commentators, they are the real deal.
Ответить“Ultimate long range hunting rifle” and then you use a Barnes bullet. LMAO
ОтветитьSounds like my ex’s answer to everything “throat it” 😂
Ответить7's the key number! I love your subtle quotes from classic movies.
ОтветитьThe old pencil holing Barnes, lol
ОтветитьWhat velocity did you guys get at the muzzle with this bullet?
ОтветитьI’m have to disagree 300prc ALLLLLLDAAAWAYYYYYYY
ОтветитьThis concept with a Saum or RCM would also be epic and cycle better.
ОтветитьCant call long range shooting animals "HUNTING" that take no skills what so ever lmao 😂 hunting is getting close to game and harvesting... yall just out thier spotting animals and sending bullets 😂
ОтветитьAwesome, probably will never be able to afford one but still awesome.
ОтветитьWould love an episode with a guest from GOA or similar to brainstorm ideas for better rifle hunting laws than "straight wall only." I hate that it forces people to buy a rifle if they don't already have one, or they've inherited something like a .30-30 or .270, and I think there has to be a better test for hunting safety that the straight wall rules are aiming to satisfy.
ОтветитьThink this will become a thing with off the shelf manufactures? I have a 300 PRC, but would buy one if the ammo was sold as a commercial load
ОтветитьSo few have genuine need for such an exclusive rifle set up, let alone can justify the expense involved. Interested by your views on excitement, thought the bitch cat was a hoot if not really finalised it seems. Super serious further testing after serious thought and analysis. Can see how this has both of you enthused in different ways. so many WSMs and serious thought and testing now. That is a massive exercise with serious costs to undertake.
ОтветитьI want to build a 7-270WSM to use with the 162 ELD-M for hunting deer and chamois. MDT HNT26 stock, 24" Proof sendero light barrel. 700 Long action. 1-9 1-9.5 twis. It won't be easy and cheap to do this in Italy but with a little time it is possible. I already own three Browning a-bolt titanium in 270WSM and a Remington 700 in 7-08mm titanium. I also often use a Blaser K95 in 6X62R - 7X65R - 6.5X65R and 7X57R with a 20" barrel. I need light rifles. Greetings from the Italian Alps
ОтветитьWhat’s the twist rate of the barrel?
ОтветитьVelocity? Energy? Bc?
Ответитьsooooooo when can we get one built? lol also with that twist rate what other bullets would it still work well with? the look reminds me of a 8.6 blk .
Ответить👍👍👍👍👍
