I saw Queen with Adam Lambert a few years ago and he was spot on. No one can replace Freddie but Adam is a damn good front man.

I thought Adam would of floored it...really supprised kris won maybe they knew Adam would have an amazing singing career still if he didnt win...

apparently adam even auditioned for a musical based on queen songs before idol and was rejected. now he’s fronting the actual band. even brian may was surprised how they could reject adam. also although adam was the superior singer, conservative christians rallied around kris and voted for him. there were even ppl that organized voting campaigns bc they wanted a god fearing christian to win

I have a theory. Maybe Adam did win but Queen went to the producers of American idol and asked them not to tie Adam to a contract cause they wanted him to sing for them and they decided to give it to Kris. I like Kris but I love Adam and he should've won.

Kris is like the best singer in your small town's karaoke bar, meanwhile Adam is ... well ... better than Freddie Mercury (nobody likes to say that, but especially over the next 4+ years after this, his vocals with Queen far surpassed anything Freddie ever delivered live. Adam lost AI because he's gay, and we all know that.

Kris is a very good singer. But I loved this when I saw it live because when Adam started singing I think that Bryan May started laughing. May knew right then that Adam was going to be their singer since Adam is one of a kind.

I'm not american so I never watched this (I still know Adam of course, and that he came from American Idol) but I just read that the other guy here, Kris, actually won that season? He might be great in other performances - i don't wanna be mean - but in this clip he comes across as very very averege. It was almost hard to watch tbh
