On a beautiful but chilly afternoon in the Peak District, I take a short walk around the site of Arbor Low.

Claimed to be over 6000 years old, the ancient stone circle and barrow were one of the first ancient sites to be given a protected status by Queen Victoria in 1888.

The protection was given to prevent 'barrow busters' from destroying the site in the hunt for treasure,

Countless sites across the UK were destroyed during Victorian times, in the hunt for priceless artefacts.

The ancient site is just up the hill from the former Parsley Hay Railway station and Tissington Trail walk I completed last week - https://youtu.be/l-O0qDgVbFA?si=etXipR_G1rxVZodM
