This brings back memories. I truly miss Blockbuster. The snacks, the search for available new releases, even the sales of old movies.
ОтветитьAnyone remember those Pokémon Snap photo booths?
ОтветитьI never liked Blockbuster, cause they charged too much for the movies
ОтветитьThis kind of business will make a comeback soon after streaming services kill their own business model since no one has enough cash to subscribe to every service 🤣
ОтветитьI loved when blockbuster used to sell games too I would find good ones on sale, game controllers for ps2. Those were the best.
ОтветитьBlockbuster: "I'm still not dead"
ОтветитьThey cleaned up real quick after getting out of the car....
Ответить"Here it is guys. This is where kids would come every Friday night and see their teacher wearing jeans."
ОтветитьHe’s the lead from Mr. Robot, and the voice of Rand Ridley from Inside Job
ОтветитьHe's the guy who showed Hitler his ass.
ОтветитьChristian Slater most famously starred in Heathers & Interview with a Vampire
Ответитьi loveee christian slaterrr, i first saw him on the heathers movie a few years ago, now i'm watching him voice rand ridley from inside jobb
ОтветитьMy towns blockbuster had a dipndots machine so we'd go once a week to get some movies and weird icecream. I loved it so much.
ОтветитьWho here is old enough to remember and prefer the mom-and-pop shops and their array of products?
ОтветитьIt’d be awesome to have the actual Christian Slater to voice himself in Family Guy to poke fun at his own career, by having him ask the Griffins if they ever saw him in movies and TV shows.
ОтветитьGreetings and salutations
Ответитьwhat episode is this??
ОтветитьThe "teacher in jeans" comment hit me. As a kid, I lived on a tropical island in the Pacific, and our sixth-grade class went on a field trip (by boat) to a nearby beach/jungle island. I'll never forget seeing my teacher in a bikini. 🤩
ОтветитьCrazy how he's describing blockbuster to his kids like they've never seen it, blockbuster was thriving back when Family Guy first came on the air
ОтветитьThe big problem with everything that replaced video rental stores is selection. Most video rental stores like blockbuster had access to a very significant majority of movies, especially older classics. Streaming services only ever have access to a heavily fractured and split catalogue as every major studio felt they wanted a slice of the pie to themselves and started their own service, making each platform less-and-less worth the cost of subscription. The kiosk machines like Redbox only have access to the relatively tiny number of movies that can fit into the machine and are biased towards only having new movies, most of which are garbage. When you walked into a Blockbuster or a Hollywood Video or w/e, you had literally wall-to-wall choices.
ОтветитьI miss the feeling of going to blockbuster to look for a good movie
ОтветитьI love how the thumbnails come up afterward with an array of Christian Slater clips on Arsenio Hall and Letterman going back to 1994, as if to help Chris out. Chris and most other people, actually.😂
ОтветитьSlater?!
ОтветитьWhat about his role in Mr Robot? It was pretty good
Ответитьwhat is blockbusters?
it looks like a place to rent movies, like the ones we used to have when I was a kid, but I have never heard of that company name before
As soon as they opened the doors, I could smell it.
ОтветитьGrowing up; if my sister and I did well in school, my mother would take us to the video store on Friday nights.
At one time, it was a place called Videos 2 Go and later, it was Blockbuster
This takes me back to my childhood. My mom, sister and I would go to the video store in Midland Park most weekends and we just look for any VHS or DVD to rent and watch a movie for the weekend. Sometimes I would look at any PS2, Gamecube and Xbox game such as Sly Cooper, Kingdom Hearts, Jak and Daxter, Prince of Persia, Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Fable, Ninja Gaiden, Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur or any other game that came out in the early 2000s. I wasn't entirely sure if these video games are rentals the same way a VHS or DVD are, so I just brought my games at a nearby GameStop or any other video game store. I also remember watching any movie playing on the TVs in the video store while my mom and sister shop around for movies to rent. There were also snacks near by the cashier and I think I got some if my mom allowed it. Now that video store in Midland Park is a pizza place and I usually browse the DVD section in Best Buy in a mall near the Barnes and Noble in Paramus. But I grew out of love with DVDs as I would watch any movie or show on either Hulu, Netflix, Crunchy Roll, Max, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime, Paramount Plus and Peacock.
ОтветитьWhen I was a kid, all I wanted to do was work in a video store. In 2009, I got a job with Movie Gallery, and I'm glad I'm got to experience it before they would begin phasing videostores out. That particular Movie Gallery folded in 2010, and I miss it.
ОтветитьBlockbuster almost put me in hock.
Watching movies with your fiancé, at home so you could save for future things, bringing up kids in the gaming world back in the 90's.
It was those late fee charges.!!
I was just a little kid growing up in the way early 2000s and Blockbuster was my only friend. Oh, the good old days
