For me the video game award is in the wrong direction, game dlc should not be in the game of the year, and bad game (in games sale and in game evaluation by people ) should not be in some award category (like star wars outlaw that is a bad game and a bad selling game ) it look like some gamestudio give them money to be in the award so it's not fair for other great games of 2024. To conclude what is the need for a game of the year award if the game in nominee inside is not true game that everybody even the game compagny did't find them good or do something great

Just in case the PS4 Pro does that since the architecture of the console was horrendously designed and put the fans in a really bad location, not counting that some games causes perfomances issues with the fans due to unknown reasons. It's really an annoying problem with the loud.

Marvel vs Capcom collection is an interesting position. It's not a new game, but the VGAs also didn't exist during it's original release. That said, It's also a collection and not a singular game. I'm on the fence about its nomination.

DLC should be its own category. And new releases of old games shouldn't be eligible. It just goes to show the dearth of other options there are for these game categories. AAA games just take too long to develop leaving limited choices.

The PS5 Pro quality issues with those two particular games has nothing to do with the hardware. It's everything to do with the game developers switching out the upscalers they used in Unreal Engine 4/5 without reviewing if their games actually looked better after that change. If they were smart they would roll back their upscaler changes and utilize the extra performance the hardware provides.

DLC eligable for GOTY is objectivey incorrect and wrong for them to do. Granted, we aren't talking about some human rights issue - but it doesn't change the fact it is just incorrect. It's like saying 2+2 is 5 and that's just how I feel about it. No. It is incorrect and it should not be done, and by doing it, it shows how little they care about what they are saying this is all about.

Sony buying Fromsoft is a HUGE loss for the gaming industry as a whole, truly devastating just like the loss of Bluepoint. Now all their games will be gimped by the pathetically weak consoles, and have to deal with those nonsense PS exclusivity years. We are in the worst timeline if this comes true. If you're in doubt, how about you play your copy of 60 fps Bloodborne or Bluepoints latest game?

Elden Ring winning any of these awards is laughable. The game still is a technically messed up stuttering mess, the art direction is good but the graphical fidelity and style is mid, and the game is not an RPG - it is an action-adventure game / 3D hack n slash. What a joke The Geoff Awards are.
