Kleihauer-Betke Stain to detect Fetal-Maternal Hemorrhage

KB stain is an acid elution stain where fetal cells are detected in the maternal circulation. It is used commonly to quantitate fetal red cells in the mother’s blood. This determines how much Rh Immunoglobulin dose an Rh-negative mother will get if she delivered an Rh-positive baby.
