Holy smokes look at the power of that thing. I never thought a prop can be THAT fast.
ОтветитьCan't fault them for replacing the original quirky Centaurus sleeve-valve engine, and its extreme maintenance overhead, for the reliable push-rod Wright... still, that 5-bladed prop was bad ass!
ОтветитьThe late WW2/early Cold war piston-engined fighters were something else. Gorgeous machines. I can imagine a fighter pilot's reluctance to swap a Sea Fury or a Tempest for ugly contraptions like a Meteor or a Canberra.
ОтветитьI just saw this clip on Instagram
ОтветитьTHE WAY THAT PROP BUZZES BY AT HIGH SPEED. GOOSEBUMPS
ОтветитьThere were no computers to help with design but, we had the Germans engineers at this point.
ОтветитьI want one. Always have
ОтветитьMost excellent display
ОтветитьExcellent
ОтветитьLove that Lycoming sound
ОтветитьSaw this fly at an airshow at Wagga Wagga Australia in 1993 made the mark 8 spitfire there that day look slow!
ОтветитьJyst before the close of ww2 the UK had ironed out rhe problems with the Bristol Centaurus engine and planned to deploy Hawker Tempest Mk2 s to the far east. Predecessor to the Fury 440 odd mph and range of 1700 miles
ОтветитьJust missef ww2 ! What a beast.
ОтветитьTop speed?
Ответитьi don't even like the airshow bits they do with warbirds. i just want the start-up, taxi, take-off, low pass, landing. especially the taxi. the hawker sea fury is such a beautiful bird. what a sleek design and great livery, too.
ОтветитьSuch a fantastic aircraft…and British!🇬🇧
Ответить3000 hp sleeve valve 18 cylinder radial.
ОтветитьHow agile was the Seafury? If I was in a German aircraft and saw one of these planes heading towards me, grab a parachute 😂
ОтветитьWhat camera has been used to record this video? There is none of the usual crappy freezing of propellers here, just a nice soft blurring, the way we see it with our own eyes!
ОтветитьBeautiful sound... beautiful plane
ОтветитьBeautiful.
ОтветитьWhat a wonderfull plane
ОтветитьThat has got to be one of the most beautiful airplanes ever!! ❤.
ОтветитьBritish engineering is the best!! ❤
ОтветитьSe te pone la piel de gallina al escuchar el poder de ese motor radial. Dios mio!❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьLooks like late Fw 190 version. But again it has that Tempest/Typhoon look. In other words,it's great, love piston engined fighters, specialy WW2.
ОтветитьMIG killer
ОтветитьSomehow, jets just don't impress the same way?
ОтветитьStop speed?
Ответитьこのシーフューリーの機体はスピットファイアとF4Uコルセアを半分ずつ混ぜ合わせたみたいな印象でなかなか気に入りました。
ОтветитьDuring the display, the engine is just ticking over. It would be quite a sight if it did it's display at 3/4 engine power.
She is so sleek and beautiful, she resembles a bigger sister of the Spitfire when airborne.
My word, did we make beautiful aircraft in those far off days.
Hawker did a really good job of copying and updating the FW190.
ОтветитьSounds right, moves right, got it right, and doesn't it show!
ОтветитьIts funny to think that the Air Ministry felt reluctant about radial engines and prefered inline engines. The Bristol Centurus was the ultimate evolution of the sliding valve engine. I think the Fury was made for this engine.
ОтветитьAwesome. Thank you so much for sharing
ОтветитьSo grateful to have discovered this channel. Incredible footage and audio of these amazing planes. Sorry I’m so late to discovering! Subscribed and making my way through the channel now 🙏🏼
ОтветитьI want one
Ответить*** soft
ОтветитьIt's great - but it doesn't match the wonderful whistle of a Centaurus. I first saw a Sea Fury displaying at Biggin Hill in the early '70s. We were closer to the flight line than would be allowed these days, and the sight and sound of it low and fast was simply incredible!
ОтветитьBeautiful aircraft, beautiful sound!
ОтветитьThat thing has to be easily as fast as some of the earliest jets. It took off like no prop-driven plane I've ever seen, and that dive was fast. A very clear culmination of the experience gained in WWII.
ОтветитьPaddyPatrone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just doesn’t get any better! 👍
ОтветитьThat engine is something else,a brilliant sound together with stunning looks.
Ответитьlovely air craft, such a shame she doesn't have her engine😮
ОтветитьWow!
ОтветитьI wish they flew that low, fast and close in the UK. They fly so high, slow and far away its not kuchen of a show...
ОтветитьBeautiful airplane
ОтветитьOne of my absolute favourites.
