Brilliant video mate. I did muay thai at a great gym for about 2.5 years but due to various factors I had to stop, so have been shadowboxing 3x a week and doing bodyweight exercises and I'm in pretty good shape because of it! Guilty of switching off sometimes during shadowboxing! Plan to do get back to gym at some point.

Hi Sean!

Do you think it's possible to become a decent Muay Thai fighter training solo? I moved to a small town recently, so all my training has been solo recently.....

I don’t have a place to hang a heavy bag. Should I get a stand and a heavy bag or get a freestanding bag?

When I didn't have a heavy bag I used to punch an old mattress leaned against the wall.
Although, I have a heavy bag for 10 years and still couldn't figure out where to put it... -.-

You can Deffidently learn the BASICS of any martial art . I break my training into 5 points 1. Cardio 2. Strength 3. Flexibility (for muey Thai and yoga ) 4. Technique ( which can be sparring, heavy bag studying videos shadow boxing ect) work on perfecting my techniques and strategy 5. Mind ( meditation, motivation videos , studying how to stay calm before a fight during after study on being more confidant hearing advice from fighters ect . The mental game is the most important

Awesome video man, i have seen the same benefits from filming myself as well. I had no idea i kept on dropping my hand before i jabbed, not only opening myself up for a shot, but giving my opponent a signal that i was about to throw a jab.

People are often worried about filming themselves because they think its vein, but it is a very important part of improving.

You can get a good training when you have a jump rope and a heavybag but you will never push yourself that hard as in the gym and jou cant spar and train pads

Do we need to do the repetition in muay thai exercise?I mean for example do we need to do 3 round of push up in muay thai also like they do in the normal gym or just one set of each exercise is enough?

I hate shadowboxing. When I meet with my homie we rather do some shouldertapping for warmup, drills and an hour long sparring. Wouldn't deduct time from sparring just to do some shadowboxing. The reason for this I see a lot of people looking great shadowboxing with no opponent. But once sparing starts this beatiful solo dancing seems useless. For me Martial arts needs to teach how to actually fight. Not how to look fancy. But maybe thats just my opinion.

Edit: I still do it but outside of my workout like in kitchen while I'm waiting for my coffee etc.

Why does he remind me of Jaxblade? LoL

Also, was really helpful, as I wanna do Muay Thai too, only there is nowhere near me where I could train it with other people. So I've been watching your videos, among others, also matches, for technique(s), guides, tips, training, etc.

Would be cool to get out there....

I was researching opinions on the internet about whether you can learn and practice alone, since it is not always easy to find a good coach or gym, it is good to hear this since it is very frustrating to read many people saying that you CANNOT
