Are you sure they're KC46 and not KC135? K46 is based on the Boeing 767 passenger jet while the kc-135 is based on the Boeing 707 which is still in wide military service despite largely disappearing from passenger air service.

Now this is mildly concerning that they moved carrier battle groups from the South China Sea all the way to the Arabian Sea because that might leave Taiwan unprotected and if China decides to seize the moment there may not be much we would be able to do to help
