I am Sooo glad George's collection went to you Mike and NOT Fremer!
ОтветитьLate to the party here...what a fantastic experience. Been a fan of Benson's for a longtime but appreciate him even more as a generous kind person. Respect when he invited the whole record crew along for dinner. Wonderful to know his guitar hero is Django. Who would've known this? Thanks for sharing this.
ОтветитьLove Benson; got all his stuff. Great video and story!
ОтветитьGeorge Benson Giving give me tonight or first to dance music song for the DJs at that time also I got AirPlay and also it’s a correct song
Ответитьthis was a lot of fun to watch.
ОтветитьI've met George and his wife several times. He was a regular customer at the electronics store I managed at Kierland Commons in Scottsdale. I can relate to everything you said. I have some great stories as well, but I didn't get lunch! Lol... He truly is a genuine and caring gentleman!
ОтветитьThat’s pretty cool, but you have to be at least a little vain to listen to your own music, lol
ОтветитьI " knew " George Benson around 1975 when he would occasionally come down to Kean College in Union NJ to a jazz open mic night to jam with students . He was a stellar guy to be around . Sounds the same today . Thanks for sharing this !

Ответитьsome story , excellent
ОтветитьVery VERY cool experience you shared, sir, with an obviously classy, yet down-to-earth legend (10 Grammy’s , just for starters.) It’s so great hearing stories like this…Thank YOU! ✌🏼
ОтветитьGeorge Benson definitely sold a part of his collection to the right guy. What an amazing experience. Thx for sharing!
ОтветитьWhat an amazing story!
ОтветитьWow,you're sooooo lucky
ОтветитьEver heard "The Other Side of Abbey Road"? Amazing record. So so so awesome. I have always wanted to see him play and can never afford it here in Toronto. So amazing.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing! Such a great story.
ОтветитьGlen Campbell also loved Django
ОтветитьGeorge Benson is one of Jehovah's Witness that is why he is kind and one of a kind example of a perfect artist
ОтветитьGreat to hear your story. Just subscribed 👍
Ответитьsurreal experience, thanks, loved the way you testified ✨
ОтветитьThis is absolutely awesome! A brilliant story and so glad you documented this. It's less than 0.001% of your experience but I met George at an awards event in London 20 years ago. As a huge GB fan (had his version of My Cherie Amour played at my wedding, for instance), I was beside myself with excitement. He was just as you described - polite, friendly, engaging, legendary - and as we said goodbye, he called me "brother", which remains one of the high points of my life.
ОтветитьGreat story, great collection(s) and congratulations about George Benson experiences; he is one of my favorites too and I have most of this albums.
ОтветитьWhat a great story. You were living the dream am sure. George is a wonderful artist and as it turns out even a greater guy.
ОтветитьTHANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!!!!
ОтветитьFrom what I understand George is an elder with the Jehovah's witnesses congregation. Sounds like he's really putting his faith into practice with his treatment of people. That's a great example
ОтветитьGlad one of my heroes is a decent chap! Class act.
ОтветитьI would have FELT like the ALBUM: "Maggot Brain" if I was in Georges Garage..SURREAL!!
ОтветитьAmazing story!
ОтветитьWhat a great story. He is a legend!!
ОтветитьI was smiling throughout this video. So glad to know he’s such a nice guy.
ОтветитьThis is such an Awesome story! Thanks so much for sharing my vinyl Brother! I just bought two records from you on discogs from this collection, one of which I've been wanting for a long time which is "The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh" Soundtrack! Thanks again 🤜🏼🤛🏼
ОтветитьGreat video. It was very interesting to watch. George Benson is a great musician and it was absolutely amazing to learn about him in this way. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to get to know this great guitarist more deeply as a wonderful, kind and friendly person. Now, listening to his recordings, I will involuntarily imagine him as he is!
ОтветитьI'm a massive fan of George, 40 albums and counting, and it was great to hear his favourite guitarist is another hero of mine Django Reinhardt. Fantastic story, I've more than a little bit envious 😅
ОтветитьJust dropped into your shop. Bought the Booker Little album with Scott LaFaro. You told me it was from George Benson's record collection. Brought the record to my buddies' jazz listening night in San Francisco and played Bee Tee's Minor Plea. Such a clean recording! Most popular play of the night. Bunch of collectors. Turns out one had actually already seen this video. Appreciate the story, and your shop, and your sharing all the background!
ОтветитьI wonder if Quincy has a few boxes he wants to off load??? That would be a blast imagine the story u could coax out of the living king of jazz.....
ОтветитьThat’s some ‘once in a lifetime’ type stuff - absolutely amazing!
ОтветитьIts good for my soul to know that George's heart is as big as his talent
ОтветитьWait, wasn't George Benson make pop and funk songs?
ОтветитьWhat!?
ОтветитьI bought "Kind of Blue" from George's collection :)
