Dude, don't do the profile camera thing. It makes you look like an amateur.
ОтветитьHarkens back to the science content I used to watch as a kid. Even though I also love the current trends of online science content, it’s cool that you’re comfortable doing your own style. Keep it up!
ОтветитьWhat a great series. Bingeing now!
ОтветитьAm I watching Johny Depp??
Awesome content and presentation. Half way over the vdo I’m a big fan already!❤
We need more content like this. It's truly interesting and enjoyable to learn. Thanks!
ОтветитьIt appears as though the algorithm is about to find you. You look more than ready
ОтветитьY’all do a really good job making this very understandable but entertaining for everyone, i am super into biology and evolution but haven’t found a series simply laying it out like this!!
ОтветитьWould your definition of animals (multicellular eukaryotes that ingest their food) not then include carnivorous plants? Are they considered to do something different from “ingestion”? Or was the definition close to— but not strictly— rigorous?
ОтветитьJust found this channel. I'm always looking for channels on the topic of evolution. You kind of remind me of Weird Al for some reason, hopefully that is taken in a good way.
Ответить"What is an animal?" - any lifeform.
We just have categories and multiple sub-categories to understand different lifeforms better.
But I guess that would have been a 1 minute video, instead of a 34 minute video.
👏🙂
Very interesting and informative
Do people really have a tendency to just think of vertebrates when asked about animals? Seems bizarre to me. When you asked in the video the first thing I thought was sponges, then insects
ОтветитьYou will get A LOT more views and subscribers, love the channel and series. Instantly clicked the "Evolution of heads" video when it showed up on my homepage, and now I'll watch all your videos :)
ОтветитьLots of deep concepts condensed down into this video. I'm guessing this came from a lecture series. Well done!
ОтветитьWait, if seawater is isotonic, why do we die if we drink it?
Ответить"What is an animal"? A summarization of all living things in just one word living on planet earth excluding humans of course. 😂
ОтветитьA quick tipp for memory: Eucaryotes -> that's "you"
ОтветитьI'm obsessed with this topic and have been binging everything I can find! 10 mins into the video and you've earned a subscriber, I'm impressed by the depth introduced already and very excited to continue
Ответитьgoood explanation - but the side camera is irritating
ОтветитьI agree - consider getting weird al yankovich involved - because - mirrors
ОтветитьVery great video! But, I keep getting distracted by the fact that you look like Weird Al
ОтветитьSeveral mistakes when you talked about bacteria and archaea, but I guess it's forgivable cause that is not a point of the video
ОтветитьThis guy is kind of like the "Weird Al" Yankovic of biology.
ОтветитьI notice the camera angles that I first saw on AFN in Germany 11 years ago: The camera shifts to an angled view with the subject still looking straight ahead. It's apparently trendy - its all over the place - but it doesn't make it less annoying.
ОтветитьEucaryotes are thought to have evolved from Archaea, not Bacteria.
Ответитьi saw something not too long ago that animals might actually be a subgroup of a specific part of archaea
ОтветитьGreat series. I want to see this used in middle school or earlier for kids with an interest. This is an excellent introduction to the evolution and radiation of animal life. I've been wanting to start making videos, but have struggled to adequately simplify the presentation. I appreciate these as examples of how to achieve this. How to omit detail without the end result being misleading. Thank you so much for this series. Only thing that would make it better is primary paper citations, which I know are a pain for general knowledge, but in this age of misinformation are of great benefit.
ОтветитьThanks, but, as a Dutchman, I must comment on the pronunciation of van Leeuwenhoek.
Best is:
Lay When Hook.
Like your videos, learn everyday something new.
Your series reminds me, in it's structure of Ernst Mayr's "This is Biology."
This is a great series for getting some of the basics of Biology. This is important science communication in these days of anti intellectualism, religious institutions attacking Methodological naturalism/modern science and a lack of easy to understand science communication.
incredibly interesting and professionaly made content, please keep uploading
Ответитьthis is so good. really puts in context how we animals came to be
ОтветитьEducational quality. Wow

Are the mitochondria the only organelles that carry a separate germ line?
ОтветитьTalk about the origin of free oxygen.
ОтветитьWOAH! Climatic, not climactic!
ОтветитьBetter explanation than my book❤️
Ответитьdefine the word itself, at least the applicable etymology.
ОтветитьAir has buoyancy but it’s not nearly as much as water*
ОтветитьJust found your channel..what a gem! More content like this please:)
ОтветитьWonderful effort❤
ОтветитьThis channel is a breath of fresh air, surprised to see you don't have more subscribers this is quality
ОтветитьAnimals are multicellular arquean organisms. That's it, I answered it for you.
