Honestly a resistance of super earth would be cool like of too many people died the mission would be over and have a spear head operation to come and liberate super earth

its really that much of a shock to players that what we collectively accomplish DOES impact the course of the storyline, that some of us still are convinced there was not supposed to be an option, and we threw the devs a curve ball

and they had to slap together an alernate option at the last minute instead of shoehorn us into the linear, no option progression they HAD developed

its a nice story, in a sense, but it is purely inferred by those same players that can't conceive a live service game actually has a live service story progression model

in the end its really not as much the player's fault for the group that can't conceive of this concept ; its moreso the industry's fault because they've set the expectation that led you there... they've defined the floor and the ceiling, and when you encounter a game that defies it , you intuitively fill in the blanks according to the premise set forth by the industry, believing the option was a lie is easier than taking HD2 at face value and acknowledging its transparency

at the end of the day, its neither here nor there, as you're enjoying it and the narrative ; but in reality it wasn't this deep, they weren't lying, they have been transparent, and we didn't 'break' the game
