www.wealthwise.com.au Ash Britton explains why he became a financial adviser
[intro music]
So, Ash. Why are you a financial adviser?
That's a great question.
I became a financial adviser for a couple of reasons but I suppose it all came about because of my history. Even as a child I was passionate about finance, shares - smart money. I used to watch
The Money Programme with Paul Clitheroe and, as a result of that actual programme, I purchased my first set of shares when I was 12.
When I was at high school, I did a work study, and in that I went to the Sydney Futures Exchange before it merged in with the ASX, as it is today. I also completed the studies at university in Economics and Accounting and it provided a deeper understanding as to what markets do and how they actually work.
So it was really about sharing that knowledge and benefiting everyone that I can talk to about making smart money decisions.
Excellent.
And can you give us a real life example of this?
Yeah. I've helped a number of clients understand how markets interact and how they move together, or how they actually operate.
It's things like interest rate changes and how that impacts, not just domestic, but also international currencies and what that means
for them and their portfolio. It's not one where I can say a specific client, but many clients.
Thank you.
In our previous video, we asked you to tell us the secret of good financial planning. With the same rules, in a few words, what is the most important quality a financial adviser must have?
Not just understanding what you want, but why you want it.
Ash Britton, thank you.
Thank you.
