This song refers to the classical myth of the sculptor Pygmalion, who had sculpted a statue of his ideal woman, asking Aphrodite to bring her to life. In the song the myth is transposed into a daily relationship where Pygmalion is seen in a negative sense, because it goes against the nature of the woman next to him, not respecting her personality. Pygmalion chisels and makes what is not a statue but a real woman shed tears of blood (“Not a stone, I'm flesh and blood / your words are cutting like a knife / bleeding teardrops from my eyes / in the hands of Pygmalion")
The piece ends with a particular, almost atonal solo, performed by Giovanni Vianelli on rhodes and Luigi Di Campo on electric guitar.

You say you want to be my Pygmalion
Shape my looks and my thoughts
'til I become the girl you're dreaming of
You're sure that I won't let you down
You don't want me to worry, you came to give
Ev'ry lesson I should learn

Gratified to be my guide
You chip and chisel all the time
A fine statue I'll become
In the hands of Pygmalion

You say you want to be my Pygmalion
Shape my looks and my thoughts
'til I become the girl you're dreaming of
You're sure that I won't let you down
You don't want me to worry, you came to give
Ev'ry lesson I should learn

Gratified to be my guide
(Ungratified)
You chip and chisel all the time
(All of the time)
A fine statue I'll become
In the hands of Pygmalion

I try just to find it's not enough
You think you carve and refine
But all that you do is always blaming me
I'm sad and I feel so undone
Caught between what I am and what you want
What you forge me to become

Not a stone, I'm flesh and blood
(I'm not a stone)
Your words are cutting like a knife
(I'm flesh and blood)
Bleeding teardrops from my eyes
In the hands of Pygmalion

Oh my life's in disarray
You wanna change me all the way
In your love I can't believe
There's no respect for my dignity!

Not a stone, I'm flesh and blood
(I'm not a stone)
Your words are cutting like a knife
(I'm flesh and blood)
Bleeding teardrops from my eyes

Set me free, I don't wanna be
(Set me free)
Don't wanna be your molded clay
(Just let me be)
Gonna make it my own way
Hands off, hands off Pygmalion!
