get the smoke detectors everywhere. it's not a joke. to the attic and to the garage. change batteries once in a year like 1st of January as your prayers. Sometimes smoke appears before fire so you can extinguish it fast. Wish everyone do not have anything like that in their lives. ps also do check your electric work with certified electrician. If your house is old, - let them go through your outlets, let them replace some switches, let them check some outlet and wire splices in the boxes. Let them check all the gfci and cafci circuits in the panel. Let them replace some of those which are old and outdated.
