"The title of the work behind me is 'What Was and Will Be.' The titles in my work are very important; many of them I draw from literature on the subject of landscape and memory or from the theory of landscape. But what's special for me about this work is the title. 'What Was and Will Be' speaks to the notion of recurrence and the cyclicality of history over time.⁠

What I just love about this is the stream of light in the middle of the work and how that really speaks to our hope for a better tomorrow."⁠
