Not sure why you didn't get the DS1155BLHV. Even at 6.0v, it spec'ed at 5.9A with 875oz-in of torque. Should be fine when running max6 or max5 at 6.0V so no need for external BEC. My max5 is set to 7.4V with no issues even though the max5 is rated at 6A and the servo current (stalled) is 6.6A. It may be pushing it, but I haven't had any issues and its been over six months since I installed that beast.

I thought the stock receiver couldn’t handle more than 6v why you would need to run an external battery?

This is the exact review i was looking for . I just wish they would make that thing a simpler. Figure out one cable to connect the battery to the servo, maybe use a lipo instead of a lion, or something .
