The "golden age" of movie stars is over. Now days people perhaps respect them for doing their job well, I'm sure, but... they are actors, and that is their job! They are not better than others; they are overpaid; they have overweight egos; and without all the bullshit, they are just like everybody else. As difficult as that may be for them to comprehend. Why do most famous actors think that they can influence the next person because of the job they do...acting! It's insane!

The new generation of writers and artists struggles to find real inspiration because they’re constantly bombarded with social media and nonstop content. Their minds are overloaded, leaving little room for deep thinking or originality. A lot of them lack the depth, wisdom, and sensitivity needed to truly explore the human experience. Their attention spans are too short to craft complex, layered stories in a meaningful way, so everything feels rushed and surface-level. Since their brains are always interrupted, they don’t take the time to reflect or think deeply—they just churn out stories without much thought.

And the audience isn’t much different. Everyone is so used to mindlessly consuming content on their phones that nothing really feels meaningful anymore.They’ve basically become an extension of their phones—walking, talking AI with the same behaviors, beliefs, mannerisms, and thought processes, all shaped by the same global content stream. It’s like mass brainwashing on a huge scale. Even when they try to be different, it doesn’t come from a place of real creativity or intelligence. It’s more about standing out for the sake of it, but without depth, wisdom, or true originality. It’s all surface-level, just another version of the same thing, repackaged to look new. Even the soundtracks reflect this shift, so many movies and shows rely on old, high-quality songs because there’s barely anything worth listening to nowadays. It’s like they have to borrow from the past just to inject some real emotion or depth into their work. Modern music often lacks the soul, complexity, and originality that made older songs timeless, so instead of creating something new that resonates, they just recycle what already worked. It’s a sign of the times, everything feels manufactured, formulaic, and forgettable.

Just make better films. Why always taking the high stand and give some philosophical reason? There has always been political influence - from any side and on any means, not only movies.

Simple answer is: stop making movies which involve sex, love, kissing and hugging, that will please everyone because there is to much blame on hollywood for such a thing, there you go, simple as that, infact everyone should just not kiss in public or even try to have a good time with the opposite sex. Let's all just be so so boring, no flirting, no eye contact with opposite sex, infact let's just let robots and AI do the role of actors and the actors get paid that way, also let's walk around saying nothing to each so we don't get blamed for being out of order.

I used to really enjoy most movies, even some others complained about. Now I don't even have a streaming sub, because every timeI looked I couldn't find anything new I wanted to watch.

For me its the Hollywood star behavior and the missing love of movie making its more like "we have this date lets press it through"

General question and all answers including my own are just an OPINION. In what year if you had to pick only one, did Hollywood in general start declining as far as movies, music, fashion and gaming? I would have to say again in my opinion 2012 if not before then.

Holywood became highly political and woke. Like Ariel of the little mermaid becoming a black woman just to avoid being racist. Technically, Hollywood itself ruin the definition of a good film because of propagandas being injected in different films, hence remaining untrue to the original story.

I am not a racist, and I am also a person of color, and I do not need a platform let alone a movie telling me that I have rights etc...I knew it already. I go to watch films to be entertained not to be reminded of some propagandas.

Hold up, Hollywood still exists? I cant remember the last time I saw a good movie at a theatre. Do theatres still exist? Hollywood is a toxic and talentless community now. They cant even come up with a good idea anymore, or make a good poster no less. Talk about a fall from grace.

I prefer independent movies/ international content and using a streaming service to watch from the comfort of home. Tired of movies with violence, violence… crime… depravity etc

I’m so tired of that taking a great story and turning it into a woke piece of garbage!
Bridgerton for example…..they destroyed a wonderful recency love story! Changed the story completely and stuffed it full of woke ideology. The writing was weak and made no sense. They couldn’t even write a simple argument between characters without them, sounding like a couple of children. And this is Netflix! I’ve completely gone back to movies and shows that came out 10 years ago. I’m just sick of having all of it crammed down my throat!!!

I used to love going to the movies just to escape, and enjoy my favorite actors! A lot of them have passed away, or have retired from the business. I miss old Hollywood, and those movies that made you feel good. I also miss those good, old-fashioned horror movies and love stories! And what happened to musicals? They're so few and far between.📽️
