I worked as a dentist in a public hospital in Cairo and I noticed that a lot patients come seeking treatment in a certain day ( even successively) for similar issues on similar teeth( upper or lower tooth, right or left)
I didn’t study that scientifically, but I think it can be easily traced.

General semantics becomes a necessary introduction to the field. the word ''is'' is replaced by ''seems'' or the phrase ''seems to be.''

If you could do the acclimation with human cells, if morphic resonance is a thing (and the effect and experiment are large enough) couldn't you see population wide resistance to something?

Slime molds seem like a fairly obvious example of morphic resonance, if it exists. I just heard about the idea, and it seems as plausible as any other theory that's out there for a lot of unexplained phenomena. I would love to see more experimental data.

I'm curious where this turn towards the language of "habits" originated. To me it sounds like Gilles Deleuze First Synthesis of Time from Difference and Repetition. Just wondering if Sheldrake's research is informed by Deleuze now. That would be something.

I seem to recall in the "Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot, that he mentions the optic nerve uses fourier curves, the basic math used in creating holograms. It seemed to inform that memory was a hologram - but indeed, where is it stored? How dare you suggest there is more than the physical world Dr Shelldrake! I love the fact that you are attempting to devise tests for morphic resonance. It's essential. I wonder though why it seems so random? If it work for crossword puzzels and iq tests(which are dubious themselves) then why not other things? Things like many people slow to pick up math aptitude even though so many other humans have figured things out. Things like carpentry/handyman skills. Why aren't those abilities pass throughout the species?
And what about the negatives? Are fear, aversion, hate, etc. passed throughout the field?

It's one of the saddest things that you're still banging on about this after 40-odd years, having never just had the balls to consider that your "guess" might be entirely wrong. Your experiments to date have shown no support, but you have fudged (sorry, did you sick a little bit then?) the results in order to cling on to your monumentally unparsimonious, random bag of attractive woo. Did you ever even attempt to describe what "similar" means, by what criteria you'd measure similarity or difference, without which all experimental results are going to be meaningless through bias? Sad, now as an old man, to still be suggesting other people might come up with experiments they can do "cheaply" to finally give some hope. Meanwhile, sad that you're selling video "courses". Why have a course on a baseless conjecture for which there is literally no evidence whatever? Why are you taking money off the credulous?

I never talk about statins with my doctor, indeed despite having access to my medical records, recently she said: "Millions of doctors beleive in them", as if she had never heard of a metabolic pathway and lacked all knowledge of the adverse side effects. @Rupert: According to the theory of Morphic Resonance, unsuccessful habbits, die out. Why aren't the habbits of scientific dogma, dying out? Does this have to do with the idea that these dogma do not excist long enough?

If this question cannot be resolved, I am afraid that there is a paradox in the theory of Morphic Resonance. However, i do think you are on to something.

Survival drives an indelible memory in nature. Agreed. This is what the hippocampus is for.

I have an idea for an experiment. In a sporting event, measure the effect of "home field" advantage at an "away" venue. Measure different mixtures of fans in attendance and see if "home field" advantage is due to venue or fans in attendance (and to what extent). Might be possible to just get fan based attendance data from existing events. I would expect the presence of supportive fans in away and neutral venues to be a measurable advantage that cannot be attributed to location per se. If the advantage can be measured, morphic resonance may be the cause or a contributing factor.

There is a case on farms where cattle wont cross a cattle grid, it was found that calves born to the cows but had never seen a cattle grid would not cross an open gateway that had a grid form painted onto the grass.I cant cite the case as I read it some years back.
