Jaw Tooth..you picked a great spot! My hometown! I'm glad you highlighted the unique Queen Ann style former PRR station. I believe it is a classic and one of the best preserved stations west of Pittsburgh. Just to the east of the station there are the remains of a concrete slab where for decades "The Servicemen's Canteen " stood. For decades volunteers from NW Ohio manned it during daytime / early evening scheduled passenger trains. (Mostly PRR) My mother was one of those volunteers and served one Monday a month. As a young boy my already healthy fascination with trains was fueled further by being able to be so close to freights on the PRR, but also the B & O and NKP at the diamonds. But being able to help meet the passenger trains , almost all PRR, and help hand out coffee and sandwiches, free of charge, to any and all servicemen enroute to wherever in service to our country. I recall a chalk board in the canteen building with the train numbers, directions and ETA. If there were significant delays, the stationmaster would either call or come over and advise the volunteers. Also if he was aware of significant large group of servicemen (usually enroute to the west coast and then Viet Nam) he would advise and the canteen made sure there were plenty of sandwiches ,coffee and snacks for the men. As a youth I was thrilled to get so close to trains, inhale the scent of diesel exhaust , the distinct aroma of steel wheels being brought to a stop, and serving young men, not that much older than myself, serving our nation. Jaw Tooth, Thanks for letting me share this part of Lima's railroad history. It is mostly forgotten but not by me. Thank you.
ОтветитьAdding a couple of details...the single track line is the remnants of what was the PRR dual track mainline from Pittsburgh to Chicago. There was a crossover at the station where passengers , baggage carts, etc all had to be across to serve the westbound passenger trains headed to Chicago. whenever a PRR passenger train was in the station it obviously blocked the shared B&O/ NKP dual north-south tracks and was controlled by the interlocking tower at the time. If my memory is correct during those years in the 1960's there were 4 Eastbound' s and 4 Westbound's plus a slug of freights both directions. I recall such well known ( at the time) train names such as "The Admiral, The General, and of course The BroadWay Limited".
ОтветитьI like the sound it makes when it passes.
I have subscribed to your channel. 😄👍
GP40-3 good catch
ОтветитьBud Light Truck. Google Dylan Mulvaney.
ОтветитьI love trains
ОтветитьThat train station is a BEAUTY! That's how they should look. This one is CLASSY in Lima and has been restored (it appears) with much care!
ОтветитьAn example of Idiots are among us everywhere.... Growing up we were taught to stop at all railroad crossings and look before crossing.
ОтветитьA lot of new tank cars or at least repainted
ОтветитьAs a CN Conductor myself from Ontario, always loved your content Jawtooth! Of curiosity what camera do you use for your vids?
ОтветитьThanks for the video! Great horn salute
ОтветитьI'm sorry, but people got a death wish running the RR gates when they are down, running red lights, etc. The entitlement in people in this world is unbelievable. I love trains very much btw. Keep it up!
ОтветитьNice Video
ОтветитьGoing Off The Rails On A Kickass Crazy Train!!!🛤

ОтветитьA man put a grape on the railroad tracks. A train came by, and then it was a conqured grape.
Hey puppydogs!
Love the sound of the train going over the diamond. Greetings from port saint lucie florida !
ОтветитьNice freight trains!
ОтветитьDiamonds are rare in Pennsylvania. I am not aware of any in my home state.
ОтветитьCool catches!
ОтветитьIt wasn't road rage; people were asking what gender the Bud Light truck identified as.
ОтветитьSadly the horns is just a recording of what it was
ОтветитьGreat videos and location. I was curious about those cables in the bottom quadrant of the diamonds in the first video. Anyone know what they're for?
ОтветитьThat was a beautiful site to see - all those cars; and wonder where they’re coming from and going to. But that train station was beautiful absolutely beautiful. There’s a giant engine in a park in Nashville Tennessee. That is breathtaking.
The best train I ever saw was out west. I think New Mexico, and it was miles long, and I could see the whole thing from engine to caboose. I’ve always been infatuated by engines of all sorts, from threshing machines, to combines to tractors to motorcycles to airplanes- but trains and their bills ,whistles, and horns, and the mystery of what’s inside has always been Like a book to me that reads different with every train.
Ma
Crazy car - no, crazy driver.
Ответитьள்ளிசறக்ஷசக்ஷற
ОтветитьExcellent video, thanks for sharing 🙏. Looks like more disposable graffiti on the train cars...
Such a disgusting criminal activity.
WP 14 👌🙏👌
That station is so cool! Thankyou for this awesome video
ОтветитьWe lived behind the tracks when we were kids and the sound of the train put me right to sleep. ❤
ОтветитьHi from Toledo ohio
ОтветитьDefinitely a typical style for a railway station; instantly recognizable! Is it still being used for something, if not for its original purpose?
ОтветитьYou were wondering why people were yelling at the “Bud Light” truck. Probably because of the nation wide boycott of “Bud Light”.
ОтветитьThat is one giant freight train
ОтветитьLove the diamonds jaw . Keep making them 👍🏻😎 Robin out
ОтветитьI went out on my first railfan trip to the Temple TX BNSF yard .. lotza talk on the ARA channels .. Pretty cool. There’s an active railroad modeling club there as well, in their own building, with several working layouts in different gauges. The scale detail is incredible .. sounds, colors, scenes, lights …
ОтветитьYou do know what BNSF means? Best In N Scale fun. Or Buffets New Santa Fe. Steven Sipes
ОтветитьHey jaw tooth what's up keep up the good work
ОтветитьHEJ ! JAG GILLAR DINA VIDEOS . TACK FÖR ATT DU OCKSÅ VISAR NÅGRA AV DE FANTASTISKA BYGGNADERNA
Ответитьomg This train is so long.
ОтветитьProbablt some idiot yelling at the driver because it was a Bud Light truck. LOL
ОтветитьWhat is the video of the old train station before it tore down?
ОтветитьSince you like railroad as much as I do are you invested in them or not if not you should invest in them and Berkshire Hathaway as they own BNSF if you have invested in them you could receive dividends from all the railroad companies that are public and Berkshire Hathaway that increase in value instead of the dividends that they get from their companies that they reinvest into the Berkshire Hathaway example if you have 400.00 in Berkshire Hathaway they increase it to 800.00 in your valuation based on their dividends and earnings instead of giving you the dividends out right they just reinvest it back into the Berkshire Hathaway instead just like if you have dividends in the stock you can reinvest it back in the company and receive more money and shares that will increase your income
ОтветитьTwo trains in two different Ohio towns dont seem to understand that you dont ryn the lights and the gates of a coming train. Thanks for letting m us see it all!
ОтветитьJaw Tooth you would hope that you have lots of ladies watching your video's with you talking about diamonds lol great video i am up to more than 5 a day to try to watch all that you have done and they just keep getting better and better well done thank you
