Thank you
ОтветитьI grow habaneros and you’re right, they tend to grow slower. But when everything else was drooping from the heat, they were standing tall! They produce like crazy too, even in extreme heat!
ОтветитьI have 40 habanero seeds in peat pods and patiently waiting for them to germinate.
Pepperheads - UNITE!
We are stronger together.
What about Cayenne? I’ve been trying to grow them here in Florida but have had no success. I do have 2 seedlings growing right now inside. It’s when I transition to outside even after hardening them off. Any suggestions?
ОтветитьWould it fry them to have the lid open during the day, also would a plastic tub over them do the same? Worked great for spring greens.🌶🔥🌱
ОтветитьI'm so relieved to see Gary's comments. My habaneros are the same size and I thought it was just me. Great info!

ОтветитьI’ve got a few hot peppers I’m considering growing in my greenhouse this year.. I’m in 5b. Last year I started mine late and they just started setting fruit.. and oodles blossoms.. as summer was winding down.. and it’s just not warm enough after august up here.😊
ОтветитьThat's brilliant!
ОтветитьHi Gary, thanks for the info I always wondered why my hot peppers grew so slow in comparison to the others they never seem to take off until later in the season then when it gets cold there would be a lot of young ones as well as blossoms. I don't have space for cold frame, but at least I know it's the peppers fault not mine😊👍NJ zone 7😊
ОтветитьGreat tips for growing the hot peppers, thanks! I don't have mine planted yet, next week, and will be covering them at night to keep them warm. I don't like the hot ones, I grow habaneros and pickle them and to make habanero fire jam to give away. I grow jalapenos for salsa, pickling, and cowboy candy. One thing I did last year that made a difference was to leave buckets of water to sit in the sunshine and warm up. I then used the warmer water to water all of my peppers and tomatoes. It made no sense to me to water them with cold water knowing they were heat loving plants. It helped to keep the soil warmer until the temps got hotter, and I was harvesting earlier. Hope this is helpful!
ОтветитьI'm more than a little interested in what the outtakes of this video would have been. 😂
ОтветитьGreat Idea! Would a south facing 2 foot high raised bed with PVC hoops and frost cloth work?
ОтветитьGreat idea! I do my super hots in buckets. Bring them in the insulated garage at night 😁
ОтветитьThanks like use same concept on some plants. will start use this with hot peppers. Thanks
ОтветитьI sure need one those cold frames
ОтветитьWhat’s your opinion on using pressure treated lumbers for gardening. I use them just fine. What size of your woods in the beds at the beginning of the video? Are those 2x8s?
ОтветитьThis makes me feel better about how small my habaneros are right now
ОтветитьHey Gary, get some help when moving those heavy things! We don’t want you out of action, we want more videos!
ОтветитьSo can you water with warm water then? Would that help you??
ОтветитьIve always seen ghost peoper grow super clustered and short like that! Mine got accidentally overwintered but ive got the bushiest, most stout ghost pepper with a tonnn of growth!
