yo the MLE does not work like that. it’s not a either choice for Denver they have the MLE to use no matter what every single team has unlimited minimum contracts to fill their roster up. So they can use two players on a minimum and someone on the MLE too

I have both of them on The Nuggets get list.

I would like to see The Nuggets transition into more of a pace team than a half court team.

My focus would be defense, pace, athleticism, and then shooting.....i don't rate shooting as high as other people.

Of course you want players that can shoot some 3pt shots but the focus of the offense to me should be defense, pace, team assists, PIP(points in the paint) and mid-range shooting.

With that in mind if i could move both the Murray and MPJ contracts i would.

I would target a new #2 for Jokic and shift AG to the #3 scorer.

I would do a massive 4 team trade where Jamal goes one place(Toronto or Orlando?) and MPJ to another(Atlanta or Golden State?) along with the contracts of Saric, Nnaji, and Watson, plus the 2031 1st rd pick.

I would target Kevin Durant from The Suns in the deal, with most of the draft assets coming from the trades of Murray and MPJ going to The Suns.

In a deal like this other players would be coming to Denver along with KD so salaries match and The Nuggets would probably receive a couple 2nd rd picks in the deal as well.

With the $5.8 mil MLE i would most definitely have Luke Kornet as my top target as reducing Jokic's regular season mins down to 32-36 mins per game should be priority #1

With one of the vet min contracts i would most definitely offer Alec Burks a shot at helping The Nuggets get to the nba finals as the backup point guard.

I would actually keep Jalen Pickett as the #3 emergency point guard.

So i would start the season with: Jokic, AG, KD, CB, and Russ as my starting five.

With Russ and CB you get both defense and transition basketball and with KD, AG, and Jokic, you get floor spacing.

So far my reserves are: Kornet, Strawther, Pickett, Holmes, and Burks.

The other experienced vets that came in the massive trade for KD would make up the rest of the 14-15 man roster.

This means the only youngster that would really need to be a top 8-10 rotation player is DaRon Holmes and in this setting, you only need him to play a Hartenstein/Holmgren type role for Denver.

Just block shots, rebound, hustle, make some key buckets, and run the floor.

In this vein i would consider starting him, if he can be an impact defensive player and rebounder.

I do believe Jokic needs to be protected at all costs.

With his offensive genius being so high, i think it's time to consider giving him a rim protector since he is so poor at protecting the rim(a huge Nuggets weakness right now)

That's what training camp is for.

Ideally they would start: Jokic, Holmes, KD, CB, and Russ.

This would give AG a full regular season with less wear and tear on his body and the energy to play more small ball five come playoff time since he is not worn down.

This shifts a really good player to the reserve unit, so now you have: Kornet, AG, and Burks as the top 3 off the bench. Remember vets are also coming in the trade so you will have them and you still have Strawther and Pickett as young legs and players that know the systems.

I think The Nuggets now have a more versatile team that can actually run and play defense(KD is an above avg defender and even at this age is great in transition)

The Westbrook/Braun backcourt had a very high defensive net rating, as well as an offensive rating above 125....."if" Holmes is a defender, rebounder, and rim protector, who can also both space the floor and play sometimes in the dunker(where i would move Russ in half court sets with Jokic and KD running their two man action) then The Nuggets might trend towards an "elite" defense(top five)

We know already that duo will help lead The Nuggets to a top five if not #1 transition offense.

As we are seeing with The Pacers, this can be a very strong weapon even in the postseason, as long as the head coach doesn't then choose to slow the pace just because it's the playoffs(something i will never understand....Carlisle has the right idea....keep running)

With this new set up, i would only extend Nikola Jokic because basically this is a one year shot at trying to win a title.

There is still time to make a decision on CB and KD(who i also would not offer an extension)

Basically the organization would be in a great position to pivot if it is not the 2025/2026 champion.

They would still have Jokic and AG and be in position to offer CB a huge contract or not.

Sufficient cap space would have been created and the team could be once again target a top FA to come play with Jokic.

All the injuries and all that stems from a bad bench , If we had a better bench throughout the season it takes away stress and strain on the starters , we get a good bench it gives us better odds in the playoffs

Get as much you can get for MPJ, but he gotta go and maybe try a rim protection stretch big next to Jokic a Porzingis or Turner typa player

I would like to see MPJ trade for CJ McCollum + Alverado or some other player from NOP with contract 2-2.5 mil. About free agency Denver has no chance of bringing in Kornet because he will get more money from half the teams in the NBA. I would like if Denver could get Santi Adama with one middle contract, because he is a perfect player for Denver, he can play in two positions, he is mobile for his height and shoots for 3 very well, the last contract was 2.5 million. But Denver doesn't want to give up of the main problem that is MPJ, and the reason is Josh Kroenke who is a good friend of MPJ, both of them used to play for Missouri, it was also seen in the MPJ podcast that he is close to Josh and in the end he stopped the MPJ trade in February.

Not at all, even this season after the All Star weekend, there was talk about A. Burks, mmm, maybe at that moment they should have done something, but not now and we don't need another Šarić like Luka Cornet..
