Hihi. I work at Toyosu so I see the Go-Karts on my way home... they really wanna make me cringe every single time T^T
ОтветитьExcuse me Chris, you're being very humble there methinks... "some old actress"... that's Dawn bloody French, comedy icon! Vicar of Dibley is every Christmas I had as a child 🥹 so cool you messaged her on IG!
Ответить"新しいね。。。" oh man, I felt that pain
I also felt that guilt, ouch
Whoever did the lighting on this did it do well. Chris looks bloody amazing with this lighting
ОтветитьJapanese tourists in other countries are not even remotely close to being as bad as american tourists. Don't kid yourself.
ОтветитьA tale of two petes
ОтветитьItsmo no bar was amazing!
ОтветитьLook at the differences between Chris's arms. I know he's left-handed, as am I, but his left arm looks well defined, whereas his right arm looks like it's just got out of Auschwitz.
ОтветитьWhen I bring this up with my US friends, they like to use the Chinese as scapegoats for being rowdy tourists, when in my own experience 90% of the pushy and shouty tourists were either US American or Russian who act like they have a chip on their shoulders.
I feel a bit bad for the UK folks as well because they are generally classy people who get lumped into the above due to their skin colour.
He beat liz truss
ОтветитьTorikizoku seems to just rent out spaces regardless of how appropriate it is for a restaurant. They shove as many boothes as they can into a tiny space and just put a grill and a bar in the back. That being said, its a predictable and cheap food and alcohol source. Its a pleanty fine place to order some food off an iPad (with an English menu) if you already spent your day exploring and you don't have the energy to figure out something more challenging.
ОтветитьWe pay in full!! Pete is the best. Almost as good as Mr. Affable.
ОтветитьProbably wont be heard but if pete or anyone likes a good snack and drinks, I'd recommend Shinjidai. Its as popular if not more popular than torikizoku and its well known for their chicken skin skewers. So well known that in fact currently, due to shortages, they are limiting the number of chicken skin skewers each customer can order for the time being. You can find Shinjidai in nearly every major city area in japan but they are more well known in tokyo area
ОтветитьThe Lawson billboard is so pointless too. Most people are never gonna hear that it went up and will go anyway. Then they’ll just be more unhappy that the view isn’t there. They really didn’t think this one through.
ОтветитьLmao I thought you were saying Pete is the worst foreigner
ОтветитьThere is an actual tree like that Philosophy tree. The Sycamore Gap tree was a tree people would spend decades saving up for a trip to see, and it got chopped down by a teenager for a laugh.
ОтветитьDear God, why Pete looks 25 years older than he is in the thumbnail 😅
Ответитьjust a suggestion if you can move the camera so both of you are in focus would be really nice
ОтветитьPete is so good at making this actually sounds like a radio podcast as an audio only watcher
ОтветитьTalking of chopping down a tree, this one is worse. Years ago a chap bought a wood for his retirement to spend his days doing horticultural work. It turned out that before the wood existed it was an. ornamental garden which was part of a lost 16th Century Manor estate. He asked a local archaeologist/historian to come and do so. investigative work to find out a little more. The guy Chris came down and by the time he finished he'd pretty much chopped down most of the wood. It's the same guy who. on a dig where they found a Bronze Age log canoe took a chainsaw to it because it wouldn't fit the transport to take it to the local museum/university for restoration and preservation... lol
ОтветитьAm I tripping or is Chris's left arm more ripped than his right?
ОтветитьHey Pete, sex
ОтветитьThere was a famous photo by Speedhunters with a Porsche racecar in front of a conbini so many car enthusiasts dream of having a photo of their car in front of Lawson's and/or Mt Fuji, but ordinary people taking photos of a cornershop stumbles me.
ОтветитьWhat makes this a podcast? Doing interviews?
ОтветитьAre we to see the Vicar of Dibley on Abroad in Japan, or Abroad in a pan sometime in the future? Wow, congrats Chris. I read your book btw, it's quite enjoyable.
ОтветитьI legit HATE the Mario Kart.
ОтветитьIt doesn’t sound like food poisoning. It sounds like your pancreas was telling you something.
ОтветитьThat is so awesomely done, Pete seems like a guy you'd gladly give your old cameras to, because he deserves to shine on better equipment :) Good Guys Chris & Pete :)
ОтветитьPete gotta podcast more he's such a good conversationalist
ОтветитьI like Chris and Pete.
ОтветитьJust do the podcast with Pete from now on. The other guy isn't very good, and isn't even in japan.
ОтветитьGreat episode love pete premiere two need an episode with both petes in it
ОтветитьI think South Florida has a pretty good balance with tourism. But maybe I'm biased cuz i grew up here. But yes nice people will offer to pay for sneakers they ruin..lol i think that's just universal human nature. ( But i don't think I'd take the $ it's just the offer)
ОтветитьIf Mr PTwoP needs an English moron to walk around with him, I'll make my way to Japan in a hop, skip and a jump!
ОтветитьThe first time I saw Pete I was convinced he was Jack Quaid on a huge career change after being burned out from acting.
ОтветитьIf you only see Japan as a place for a cheap holiday? Get lost. You’re ruining it for those of us who want to experience its rich culture and have been dreaming of visiting Japan fir years
ОтветитьAverage american behaviour
ОтветитьPete looks like he was tearing up 😢 He genuinely felt terrible over that accident. I'm sure the girl knew it was an accident as well
ОтветитьThe Go Karts will be available in Los Angeles at the Nintendo theme park at Universal Studios. People should just do it there instead.
ОтветитьAnybody able to read the vanilla macadamia coffe enough to pick out which one it is?
ОтветитьProbably my purchase that bumped ur book up, I LOVE Dawn French and I gifted myself her book The Twat Files for my birthday, then purchased your audiobook in February to keep me company on a 12hrs flight (thank you Chris, the flight went by quick) WOULD LOVE TO SEE 2 OF MY FAVE BRITS YOU & DAWN TOGETHER IN A VIDEO INTERVIEW... Hi Pete!
ОтветитьNo hard feelings but sorta wish this was the podcast instead of the other Pete... he just doesn't really mesh well with Chris IMO
ОтветитьI totally forgot that this is Abroad in Japan pod! I totally thought this is American Pete’s new pod!! 😂
ОтветитьDawn French is a lively guest to have in new environments with things to explore, learn, eat and drink. -Like a non-smoking Natsuki. I think if you reached out to her agent with an open invitation to visit and learn how to avoid crowds and clichés, you'd have a very strong chance to hear back. In previous travel and interview programs she seems pleased to discover life-hacks and humble leisurely activities that are obtainable but not well known to the masses.
ОтветитьChris looking skinny! (10 months ago)
ОтветитьI am in Japan right now and fuck I hate those Mario kart gokart fucks.
Ответить
