Interesting. I'm native. My grandpa and dad had model 94s. Grandpa had a Mauser 98 carbine in 30-06 he was issued during the Aleutian campaign of WWII. I wish I knew where that ended up. There were a lot of rifles anyone can own or order from a catelog though. Hunting and fishing was very important for us. It did provide most of our yearly food supply. I grew up in western Alaska. But that wasn't too terribly long ago. I'm 42.
