He is a great and amazing speaker. The only person that can hope to fill the shoes of Morgan Freeman when it comes to Documentary or Commentary.
ОтветитьThat's deep....humor but sad
ОтветитьBrilliant! 💖
ОтветитьWhat is this??
ОтветитьWhere can i find full interview?
Ответитьoh no! Millionaire is sad and feels oppressed. Sad sad sad.
ОтветитьLavar Burton is an amazing public speaker and actor. I loved Reading Rainbow 📚🌈as a kid. 🦋❤️🦋
ОтветитьMr. Burton's contributions to the industry and US history can not be underestimated. His talent and skills can only be described as extraordinary. A couple of productions and works outside of Roots, Reading Rainbow, and Star Trek have forever colored my perception of him, and I believe they should be revisited for fans of this American Icon and treasure.
"Battered" 1978
"Dummy" 1979
"The Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones"
His novel, "Aftermath," may never see the big or small screen. I read it more than two decades ago when I was serving in the military. Ironically, I was stationed at Landstuhl, Germany, where Mr. Burton was born—a fact that I hadn't known at the time.
Initially, "Aftermath" is a very uncomfortable read. A quasi-modern Sci-Fi social, environmental, and racial nightmare detailing unending despair accompanied by sorrow and loss that slowly and methodically uplifts the reader and reminds them that no matter our differences, 'we' the human family, will find a way to unite. It was far ahead of its time yet ignored by many critics. In the past three years, Aftermath has gotten another look. With audiobooks being on the rise, the novel was re-tooled for a modern take, with the message staying the same. It can be heard on Audible.
Damn. Just this little clip had all of us wanting to see more.
ОтветитьThis scene was barely edgy. Just two black old men pretending to complain about a system they grew old serving. He just says how he feels, not what he's done about it. Meanwhile Laurence Fishburne says just about nothing. Coming from an old man that's embarrassing... if it were a real conversation.
ОтветитьIf this was an acting role, I would give that guy the Oscar right now! Proud of this brother for speaking his truth and I am sure a lot of us feel that way. He also got snubbed on Jeopardy so I don't watch that shit anymore.
ОтветитьDo people understand where his rage comes from? Where the rage of black America, specifically rage in black men stem from? If you don’t understand, imagine being lost your whole life, a made up identity because your birthrights were robbed from you and even though you were meant for royalty you were relegated to a peasant by people that never understood the truth and your royalty, now it’s been so far removed, you see your own people turn on one another because they don’t understand their true meaning of being here and has turned to hate due to frustration.
ОтветитьNot only did they steal your life but stole the lives of all those that were to become great behind you. And now it’s oh well, get over it! What a spit in the face.
ОтветитьWhere can I see the entire interview
ОтветитьThis clip shows more about the abomination that is slavery than most documentaries or movies. What an incredible, POWERFUL message. Two of my favourites of all time. What is this clip from?!
ОтветитьWhy is he filled with Rage? I'd love to hear his story
