Thank you so much. I will have to watch this a couple of times to really wrap my head around it. No pun intended.
ОтветитьLearned a lot today. Thanks!
ОтветитьWhat do you use to polish dies?
ОтветитьI watched a world champion 1000 yard F class shooter ask at least 20 different guys shooting in that world championship if they neck resize or full legnth.... I didn't hear a single man say neck only
Ответитьmessage from the future.... I never thought I would see a pot of RL 26....
ОтветитьWhat parts and polish compound do you use to polish your full length sizing dies?
ОтветитьHow do you polish the inside of a die
ОтветитьThanks 👍
ОтветитьThank you! This video is absolutely superb. You explain things very clearly and succinctly, unlike most reloading videos I have watched as I attempt to learn about it before actually doing it myself (i.e. convincing myself that spending two week's wages on equipment is a wise choice, especially when I usually have almost nothing left unspent each week ;-). You have a new subscriber, my friend!
ОтветитьThank you for taking the time to teach what you know so others learn and keep this going for the next generation

ОтветитьWhat are some tips and experiences when resizing weatherby brass for a weatherby cartridge with a Venturi shoulder? (Double rounded shoulder) does anything change in the process or do it the same as described in this video?
ОтветитьHow do you choose a power?
ОтветитьSo, what happened to fire forming...?
ОтветитьSome brass is nickel coated, any comment on using that case?
ОтветитьWhere TF is Jake at while Dad is doing this?
ОтветитьHi there i am wondering if you could help with some info. I am wanting to load a Hornady 143g ELD X in my 260 rem . I have been Shooting the 140g Hornady int with 41.6g of Somchem 365 ( Similar to H3450) I am sure this long sleek bullet is compacting the same amount of powder . I would appriciate any advise you could give me .
ОтветитьWhen you talk about feeling the shoulder contacting the die body, as you're camming over, is this after a few firings on the brass, where the OAL of the case has grown? Or is this when using something like the Redding custom shell holder set?
ОтветитьI'm new to reloading, trying to get better accuracy out of a 7mm rem mag that averages around 1.5 MOA. I want to get a tighter fit of the brass customized to my chamber by loading fired brass. So theoretically, it would only fit my chamber. I understand that the shoulder bump is customized by adjusting the die to get around .002 shoulder bump. But what about the diameter of the lower section of the brass from base to shoulder? Does a full length resize just return it to a standard saami dimension that isn't custom to my chamber? So firing the brass provides no advantage for that section of the brass? Any idea how much accuracy improvement I should expect with handloading over premium factory ammo (if any)?
ОтветитьHow do you know when its time to retire brass?
ОтветитьDo you need the type s die to bump the shoulder?
ОтветитьGreat videp
ОтветитьVideo
ОтветитьWow! I've only watched half of this video, but I am so impressed by your communication skills and your simple presentation that I had to stop and complement you....... now back to the show.
ОтветитьGranted its not a precision rifle, 303 enfields are notorious for separation. SAAMI spec isnt what the brits used.
Thats the ONLY thing ill neck size. It gets a few more loads from already tough to get brass.
Always use a scratch wire and anneal as well.
THANK you so much for this video! You are the man!!!!
ОтветитьWhich dye is best for muzzle loaders?
ОтветитьFor the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:7)
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Mark 2:17)
Would you expect much worse results from bumping the shoulder all the way back to minimum sammi spec like a piece of virgin brass? Would burrying the brass all the way into your sizing die until the shell holder touches the die make that happen?
ОтветитьHey let's see some circasian walnut and blued steel!
ОтветитьMy 338-378 is extreme on expansion
ОтветитьGood to meet Dan Dan the bullet man
ОтветитьLove the content. You can zero a dial caliper. You rotate the dial and the needle will remain stationary until you slide the rule
ОтветитьJust saw your video. How do you know what the shoulder should be measured. That’s where you lost me. Good video. I just don’t know what to compare it to.
ОтветитьWatched your video for the 3rd time. i thank it this time.
ОтветитьHEY NOW,,,,,, its been a while but i just watched your video on headspace and full length sizing and shoulder bump.....ive been reloading for years now and im finally determined to do it the right way...i really like your videos. is it possible to do the neck bump by using a headspace comparator for the number to the datum line and lowering my normal RCBS sizer die a couple thousandths to get to the right number......id rather not have to get into replacing all of my dies to do this....if there are any tools that could assist me in this please let me know,,,,my headspace comparator should be here tomorrow......thank you very much,,,,,,,
ОтветитьNice group... BUT... did you kill it... ? great vid, am wishing I had viewed this decades ago...
ОтветитьI've been watching Sam for years and he is the best.
ОтветитьI see this is an old video, but I'd have to say it's the best I've ever seen on this subject. Hope this comment will reach you as I see you may have left YT ? You are very good at getting the point across without a lot of BS in the process. Just found you, but will watch everything I can find that you have done. Nobody better !!
ОтветитьI am relatively new to reloading, I'm NOT a comp shooter, but a hunter who want to shoot the best he can!
I use all the same make of good quality brass when reloading. I batch load in 50's, neck sizing up to two firings.
I then anneal and full length resize so as to chamber easily.
I am thinking of purchasing a Forster bushing bump neck sizing die, so as to retain as much of the fire formed
case as possible and to work the case less!
I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the matter.
Just started reloading recently and found this video this morning. this is one of the best videos I’ve found on all of this. Much appreciated, sir.
Ответить303 British brass headspaces on the rim. Full length resizing essentially allows the base of the case to stretch further and shortens brass life. And case head separation is not uncommon with the 303 in the original rifles.
Ответитьlove your stuff and knowledge but case head seperation you never owned a 303 britt did you?
ОтветитьThank you for making and sharing this video. You are an excellent teacher, I learned a lot here. Again, Thank you
ОтветитьThank you for your time.
ОтветитьSam
Your channel is one of the best for reloading information ( if not the best ) Many thanks . Uk
