Halo - Season 1 - Episode 1 - Review!

As a fan of halo sense childhood this show is trash. Sorry to be straight forward but the director new that people wanted the same story as the game and they gave us crap as I expected

I thought it was pretty good. Definitely a little annoyed on how they completely change captain Keyes and Miranda cuz they’re black. Chief is supposed to be completely white, blue eyes, and blonde hair

I am a big fan of the HALO Series and as far as the first episode shows I like it. The only thing I wish they did do was keep the helmet on Master Chief. You never really see his face in the video games because it was always a mystery almost. So in the future of the serious I hope that in the show they keep his face hidden. Other than that so far it is a pretty good show

The best thing was they included the aliens moving sidewards.. Attention to detail for fan servicing..

I enjoyed it a lot as well. The gore was unexpected but cool to see. Is it woke? I dont think so, the characters in this are the same as in game. The biggest difference is that capt. Keys is black but it could be a casting choice, i like the dude though. The grand scheme of the plot is the same as in the halo universe but the subplots that was in the episode are made up according to the silver timeline.

I just saw angry joe they had a chance to watch episode 2 and apparently it's really garbage

Never play halo. So as a sci fi action show. It kicked ass. High budget for a tv show.

They change up comics, novels, etc....ppl overrated.

Yeah it wasn’t Halo at all.

The story of the series is another timeline, so not canon to everything we had about Halo so far. But the general setting is the same, they just evolving their own story around it

This show was trash. They race swapped Miranda keys, Jacob keys, the girl side kick was made for the show, the lady with the covenant, made for the show, Halsey boss was made for the show. 5 out of the 7 main characters are female. The storyline is a complete mess. The elites look like krogens from mass effect. They even call out commander Shepard name in the background. No halo music, master chief HUD is all wrong. I could go on for days. I wife is done with the show, and I am too. My friend walked out halfway through it. It is a mash up robo cop, a poorly written soap opera, and a generic sci-fi show with a thin vale of halo thrown in.

I gotta say, as a HUGE HALO fan since it all started, the show is a 7/10 stars for me. The costumes, weapons, the Spartans, the Covenant, the sceneries, the marines, action and sound effects were PERFECTLY on point EXCEPT the rifle and Master Chiefs voice (which was disappointing). The rest of the story with the rebel girl was pretty unnecessary, but it's only the introduction to the silver timeline so it didn't bother me too much. What DID bother me, was John taking his damn helmet off. Like, whyyyyyyyyy must they do that in live action films of video game characters? (face palm). That is RIDICULOUSLY annoying. And what the hell is the deal with the Prophets using a female human to defeat humans? That was very unnecessary as well. But, it's only the start. So let's see where this goes.

As a halo fan, growing up on the video games, this show was a huge disappointment. There is a lot more to halo and it's lore that the show absolutely ignores and throws away. Very nervous with what comes next

As a nonhalo show, it’s actually good. But as a halo show, and as someone who has loved the games since the beginning, it’s decent at best. The cgi is wonky when the Spartans move. They showed Chief’s face for like half his screen time. In the games an important part of his character was that he never showed his face so the player can feel more connected to him. If they needed to show his face for contract reasons, then I wanted them to treat him like the mandalorian, he showed his face in meaningful and powerful moments, unlike this show where it seems like he’ll just take it off whenever, hopefully I’m wrong on this. In terms of wokeness. Captain Keyes and Miranda Keyes were white in the games but black in the show, so I hope that won’t take away from the show going forward.

The story is very different from the games, I wouldn’t have expected Chief to go rogue so soon, they probably should’ve held that off for a later season and focus on Halo for this season. It would’ve made more sense to me. But my god the gore in this is top notch, i was not expecting it at all. And the designs of the covenant and the UNSC are great as well.

If you get the chance you should play the games to understand where halo fans are coming from with this show.

Big thing for me was all the Easter eggs there was especially in the fight scenes. I was like i remember that from the games like the hud and sounds.

The show was terrible.

The games have diversity in it as well. The marine allies in particular, which makes sense because it's the United Nations space command.

The motion of covenant elite was janky as hell especially when they are jumping.

This show is absolute crap compared to the source material. Maybe thats why it’s NOT CANON, it’s literally just fan fiction. You know it’s set 500 years in the future right?

The show doesn't do the games any justice or to the plot of what Halo is and that's obvious because they said they wouldn't focus on the games for this. This is not for Halo fans none of the decisions they make in this, make sense and none of the characters have anything good going for them. This is just a generic plot that we've seen many times.

Halo and Star Wars have always been my favorite sci-fi entertainment. Can’t kid ourselves about the sequels in Star Wars. Or the way 343 handled halo thus far. But I will always be a fanatic of both. Even though halo infinite is charging 7-12$ a helmet. Sticking with my samurai. Also they need to remake the original Star Wars battle front 2. Also 343 fix infinite thx.

I can see the appeal if you haven't played the games, but I hated it. It was just alot of little things that irritated me. I heard the Mass Effect reference also, I hope they don't try making a show for that.
