We don't drink that much wine, but I buy rum and such, so I have a wine rack. I'll get rid of it when we sell the house.

I don't get the recliner suggestion....are you saying to just put the headrest back and the footrest up? But once you get off, it goes back up/down. I don't think you can force it in the reclining position without a lot of effort. I just put a throw on it for a bit of "style". I can't imagine not having a recliner when watching tv, reading a book, scrolling. As we age our backs need comfort. Besides, my great dane insists on share time every time I sit on it. :-)

Hi Garrett, curious to know what you think of white plantation shutters?? Be honest. 😬. I love the luxurious curtains but because my windows are big and down to the ground plus some windows finish off so close to the corner of the room. And I have two large ones touching corner to corner. And it’s the same in the bedrooms. Then I have an air con unit in the way in another area. I have had to install plantation shutters cause these are what I feel works well with my windows. And I have them throughout the house to keep it consistent.

I may be weird, but since I'm not much of a drinker these days, I've taken to using my wine rack for coffee syrups. It's part of my little coffee bar area. Yes, I managed to find 8 different flavors of coffee syrups. Hey, sometimes I like to be fancy.

I used to have vertical blinds in my kitchen along the patio door. After my puppy, now 3 year old dog (where did the time go?), decided they would be fun to destroy during her teething phase, I replaced them with a sheer, light blue curtain. The walls of my kitchen are beige, so it gives that wall a nice color pop.

I'm a Realtor and I tell my clients all the time (after clean and & declutter) to paint the house in a neutral white and update the light fixtures, and the house will feel updated. Glad to hear you say it also! I feel validated. LOL

Fresh flowers are so very affordable nowadays -- no reason to have faux. Trader Joe's in particular has great prices for flowers.

Yes! to updating hardware. Our kitchen came with burnished brass log 🪵 cabinet pulls and, I kid you not, a burnished brass rope-texture LASSO light fixture. Down with the fear of being lynched at every meal; up went the cloud light. My friend's husband replaced the logs with regular drawer pulls.
