Hello guys, long time no see, this is a new series of the Story of series, more videos coming soon including classic ultra long and detailed Story Of videos.
The Spiess T522 is one of the weirdest 90s supercars and definitely the saddest looking supercar of all time. The car was the brainchild of Robert Spiess, a German businessman and entrepreneur who in 89 decided to built his own supercar under the name of Spiess Fahrzeugbau Gmh and Co. By 1990 the first scale model was built and by 1992 Spiess had their first car. The T522 featured quite a unique styling, probably due to the use of CAD software on designing it. The body and the chassis was made out of carbon fiber. While the engine was a twin turbocharged Mercedes 5.7L V8 with a claimed 500hp and a top speed of 300kmh. The T522 also featured a crazy interior which beside the fact that somehow was a 4 seater it also featured a phone and a crt screen for the rear view camera. A second car was built in 97 which had a naturally aspirated engine, but it never went beyond the prototype fase and the 20 car production number. This probably due to the fact that the car had a price tag of around 400000 euros in todays money.
