They ask you to do this for two reasons the first is they don't want you using slight of hand to swap out the dice for loaded ones. And secondly, they don't want you concentrating on the dice... if you roll the dice in your hands and wait for the right time to throw them it gives you a greater edge... sounds funny doesn't it?? But the second reason I stated they will NEVER talk about or even admit, but its the truth!!!!

Everyone in the comments seems confused. There's only one rule "Keep the dice always visible so that the dealer knows you're not trying to do any kind of sleight of hand to switch the dice" everything else is just examples of instances where a sleight of hand could occur. Like switch hands, picking up dice with 2 hands, not keeping the dice visible, moving the dice away from the counter. The rule is JUST let the dealer see that you aren't trying to cheat, nothing else.

Funny how most people dont know that this game gives the casino little to no edge i have seen the craps table bleed the most out of all the games. Second im a dice dealer and yeah we care because we will get in trouble when players come and do a voodoo ritual before throwing.
