I am in year two of my retirement. I am two years shy of being able to file for Medicare. I had secured Health Ins. through the Affordable Care Act marketplace (Obama) and was able to secure a subsidy to help pay for my Insurance because of the American Rescue Plan (Biden). I was recently advised my Health Ins. Carrier is leaving the marketplace and I will need to secure new insurance next year. I do not know how this will impact my subsidy and what my insurance will likely cost me next year. I am very fearful the GOP will gut the American Rescue Plan and take away any subsidy for Health Ins.

It's is outrageous. We are struggling and barely surviving. Reds and Blues failed us. Besides no housing because they rather gave the housing to indocumented mostly Spanish speaking people.

Significant ARPA funds are still distributed to states like the $350 billion Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF). CA received $43 billion including $27 bilion for state fiscal recovery. But some of the funds have been used by states for other purposes such as paying for millions of illegals’ health services requirements.

Also, if you believe anything is “free” u must be in diapers still. In Aust certain drugs are covered by govt insurance Pharmaceuticals Benefit Scheme or private insurance. Every worker pays 2% of gross income on top of income tax for Medicare. Govt subsidizes part of drug costs, but not all. Insulin is not free, subsidies only cover syringes etc. Bet it’s same for Canada and NZ. ALL govt spending is covered by taxes and debt, almost all of them paid by business and the top 40% of income earners.
