He wasn't fired by the Canucks. He was never an employee of the Canucks. Anthem singers are independent contractors. They are asked to return based on past performances and how they represent the organization. Canucks have been distancing themselves from Mark for awhile. Best example of him singing less in recent seasons and not singing during the playoffs (Buble and Hui but not Donnelly). The rally was the last straw.

if the vancouver canucks are willing to fire an their anthem singer for something so petty, then their not worth watching anymore. Mark was an iconic fan favorite, who's interactive style set him above the rest. I personally will never attend another game, purchase any merchandise or support the canucks franchise again. One of the things that makes Canada great is the freedom to have individual beliefs/opinions. To fire someone for attending an event you wouldn't attend despite the fact it doesn't impact his job performance is truly sad. It goes against everything canada is supposed to stand for!!

Well I hope that Aquino guy for Vancouver Canucks realizes he just signed his own loss of money because people are going to not show up for the games let's see how much money he makes, maybe he'll start to get an understanding of Rights and free choices
