This reporting is terrible. Argentina is bankrupt and simply can't afford to pay welfare. It's a rediculously indebted country supported only by endless loans from the IMF. Inflation was the highest in the world at over 200%. It simply could not go on. Unfortunately, the time has come to sort out this mess and as usual, it's the poor that suffer most. The good news is that after less than a year, the economy is improving, including real job growth that will create opportunities and hopefully lift many of these people out of poverty.

Argentina has been living well beyond its means for decades, and Milei is determined to end it.

This will hurt as it would involve spending cuts, hence the pain its citizens are facing.

These cuts will eventually lead to low inflation rates from the present high, and then, an investment and export boom would follow.
