I Tried Splitgate 2 For The First Time

Your twitch chat was correct. The first two matches you played were bot matches even though the game did not tell you they were. This is why the third game was such a jump in challenge.

EDIT: The devs have said themselves in prior patch notes that the first 1-2 matches are bot matches. This is not a guess or an assumption based on the gameplay shown in the video.

I was gonna play Splitgate 2, but the reviews kinda pushed me away.

All of the negative reviews seemed to encounter the same issues and had the same problems...

...but all the good reviews were either making a joke about their "gate being split wide open," or the review was just a written tutorial on cooking eggs or milking a cow.

Obviously I wanna still check it out for myself and get my own opinion because I liked SplitGate 1, but the trolling good reviews that didn’t have anything good to say and the genuine bad reviews who all mentioned the same issues was a bad first impression.

Compared to the first its so horizontal. I played several hours and it just wasnt the same. However you did seem to get a map i never got, the green one. If they brought back the maps from the first that would go a long way

1 day i fry with 20 kill in BR.
Next day, i cant peak anything without getting melted in 200ms.

Im supposed to play on central servers but they dont have one. Its just east and west.
And somehow i end up all over the world with irishmen in my lobby and such..
So thats been my problem...

Just searching for the next game with good connection so i can play good like i know i can....
And mfs will really gaslight you i to thinking your shots are off, or your movement sucks.

If you're looking for other shooter games to give a shot, you should try the new season of the Finals. I know you played it back when it first came out, but the game has changed SO MUCH for the better since then.

I wanna see Flats play ranked when they add that and make some spectating videos when they add spectating features. And before any uninformed people comment, the devs made a sacrifice for kill-cams or spectating for getting very good hit-reg because the component used for those features doesn't support kill-cams yet.

I loved Splitgate 1, despite not having played it in years (I’ve always preferred Overwatch), but I’ve installed Splitgate 2 and plan to give it a shot soon

Man, you really have to use portal more to be good at this game. Like... every few seconds you should be opening a new one and moving through it somewhere else. Why engage across the map with someone when you can just window behind them and shoot them in the back from around a corner?

i remember when first split gate come out,it was a cool concept but died too quick,i hope they learned from it and will make splitgate2 even better

you gotta try out the other factions, each one has their own unique abilities and weapons and some weapons are a lot better than others. i’m forgetting the names but the orange faction generally has the strongest hitting ARs, rifles, burst rifles, and shotguns while the purple faction has the best smg.

Okay this might be a very weird take and maybe it has already been addressed... But Flats "looking away" from the gameplay on the webcam just bugs me. I mean he is looking right and the gameplay happens on the left side of the cam. Aesthetically it would look so much better if he was on the left side of the screen or on the right side but with a mirrored camera. 😅

Your first game is always really easy. I farmed the enemy team and got 50+ kills in mine. I think it takes a few games for the matchmaking to place you correctly

Graphics and movement feel are really good. Gunplay is 7.5/10... But the portal mechanic and map design is really really bad..

if this game didn't have portals, i'd still be playing it. also, remove the BR.

Splitgate's skill cap is nonexistent. You could probably play for a decade and still not be at max potential because portals just change everything.

Ex-SG1 Top 50 Takedown player here. Glad to see you playing my favorite series! Lol Hope you get your ass kicked at least slightly at the start for putting IF in F tier on that one list. 😂 But I do hope you love the game overall. Definitely try out the Takedown mode. I put Thousands of hours into Ranked Takedown in SG1. Lol Cannot wait for it to make a return in SG2. Still, only playing 90% takedowns in the meantime to get ready for it. My favorite game mode in any fps of all time.

Its fun, but honestly, the people who are snap triple portaling make the game unplayable, usually they're on pc, but for people on console who are using thumbs and not a mouse to aim are at a major disadvantage. Not to mention you have the let go of your movement analogue to close your portals unless you make some weird bind or have extra paddles on the back. Ill learn to portal hop one day though. 😂 yeah right.
