ОтветитьI wonder how much weight that 1st floor is holding.
ОтветитьI was a master tool and die maker for 44 years and a shop owner, that's is absolutely nuts ,
ОтветитьI have never in being in small hobby shops all my life, ever seen anything like this. Not a sales place, no sales house, no shop no matter the size have I ever seen even a 1/10th of this!!. Just the small drawer stacks are incredible..i mean the McMaster-Carr catalogs ..insane ! All the books in the shop.. place is like a museum/tool history library.
ОтветитьIt took the guy a life time, theres not enough watch makers in the world, its going to take ten years, do a bunch of buy it now.
ОтветитьHow did he get half that stuff into the building? Holy cow.
ОтветитьIt's too bad you didn't have a short video of the man working or talking about what he does and a little history of him.
ОтветитьLathes are very expensive, even very old ones but once in a while people just want to get rid of them and you can buy cheap
ОтветитьAbsolutely amazing!!!! I would really like to know more about the man that had all this. He would have been amazing to sit and chat with!! Plus what a cool wife! Bonus to her fg or letting her husband have such a amazing machine shop!
Ответитьkinda sad knowing the guys lifetime of tools is going to be auctioned off
ОтветитьGood luck with the auctions. Just amazing machinery.
ОтветитьThis stuff doesn't need to be sold at auction. It needs to be in a museum.
ОтветитьI like to know house of floor hold all that weight.
ОтветитьAbsolutely astonishing and my idea of heaven!
I'm surprised the upstairs didn't join the downstairs, the floor loading must be marginal now.
WOW❤
ОтветитьI would’ve loved to be this guys neighbor. I think I would’ve lived in his shop. Rest in peace sir
ОтветитьThe Guy was an eclectic billionaire! Pretty awesome! What a honor to know that gentleman and learn from him.
ОтветитьJust the starrett collection alone would be enough for a museum and a year to year history of the company.I would think they would have an interest i9n some things but the original owners are probably no longer.
ОтветитьI would be very concerned about theft!
ОтветитьMy goodness, 😍 my dream .. no, way over the top of any dreams I've ever had for a complete machine shop. An amazing man 😢 and most all of it analog.
ОтветитьGood God! It took me 3 hours to watch half of this video. At every angle I had to pause and look closer at all these wonderful machines and instruments. No, this is not hoarding. I can't imagine all the time he must've spent in his endeavors. There's no words to describe all this.
ОтветитьSorry to ask how old was he when he passed away, this man was a genius - South African
ОтветитьBy the way i am a hobbyist custom rod builder l work on lathes as a hobbyist as well ,this collection makes my heart skip a beat - South African
ОтветитьWow this is an awesome collection of equipment,i am a DIY/Hobbyist love to have one of those laithe"s - South African
Ответитьvari drive install on the mill
ОтветитьNo expense spared with this guy
Ответитьthis is so...cool...amazing....my dream.....
ОтветитьYears ago i visited a similar shop here inthe netherlands.
I was buying tooling for my schaublin lathe and I met a guy and agreed to buy some tooling from him.
When i came to his shop my jaw fell to the floor 😂.
His shop was filled with only Schaublin lathes and milling machines and every machine was complete with every tooling available from schaublin.
And all was used but in immaculate condition .
The sad story was that he was diagnosed with cancer and had only 2 months left and he was selling the machines.
Hay just think the SR71 was built with slide rules.
ОтветитьHay how come that shop is so clean even with the stuff stake on top of one another that is just cool
ОтветитьWow guys gotta say this amazing I wished I would of learned how to run a lathe and milling machine what held me back was I was smoking pot being ston😮e alot. I look back and kicking myself. I now no longer getting stone anymore I've been straight for 40 + years.
ОтветитьIt is very sad to see this and to know that the owner will never come here again. I think he loved his job very much, it's a fortune even without taking into account the collector's value. I always say that when we die, those who get everything will just scrap everything in bulk and will not sort it out. I hope that things will please other owners. An amazing collection of beautiful things, some of them are even incomprehensible to me, despite the fact that I also have a similar hobby.
ОтветитьNot a hoarder, at all - just a guy limited in space for his hobby!passion....Fantastic workshop, and well maintained equipment too -
As a machinist, then I can vouch for this limitation in life - I am a hoarder, which is a cultural thing for a Highlander🏴
This is absolutely incredible. He had to have invested millions of dollars into this throughout his life. All of this stuff is so incredibly expensive...This is a breathtaking collection. I would pay just to tour this place.
ОтветитьA tremendous amount of watch making and repairing tools, now that watches are obsolete.

I have never met this man but i absolutely love him.
ОтветитьHOLY CANNOLI!!!!!! THAT MAN ("RUSSELL"?), SHOULD'VE BEEN PUT IN CHARGE OF A "MUSEUM OF MACHINERY, AND MACHINE TOOLS"... WHOA!!!!...
[IMHO: MAY GOD BLESS HIM!!!... (HE MUST'VE BEE BORN WEALTHY!!! NOBODY COULD SPEND THE TIME IT TOO TO FIND, PURCHASE, AND COLLECT ALL OF THAT STUFF, WHILE WORKING FOR A LIVING!!... UNBELIEVABLE!!!)
Your writing style is engaging, and your blog is a treasure of information. Thanks!
ОтветитьTHANKS FOR THIS AMAZING TOUR!!! (IMHO: YOU SHOULD GET/USE A TRIPOD, WITH A NICE GIMBLE, FOR TAKING MOST OF YOUR VIDEO!!)
ОтветитьThat shop was his idea of heaven. His happy place that no matter happened in his day or life he could go there and feel completely comfortable. He likely knew where everything was and what it was worth. Absolutely mind blowing collection.
ОтветитьI could spend a month in there and not be bored for a second.
ОтветитьOk SOLD, who do I write the check to?
ОтветитьBeautiful & complete just WOW!
ОтветитьI can't stand a hoarder
ОтветитьTrapped in Awe...! Valhalla has been found.
Ответить61 years old that's no age to pass very sad indeed 😥
How did this guy fund his hobby as there's a lot of money tied up 😲
Wow, what a dream collection and in great condition.
ОтветитьNot. A spec of rust anywhere... That's simply amazing...
ОтветитьI doubt very much that this man did much if any work in his later years. Why? Because you can't move in that place, very little of the tools or machinery is accessible or powered up. No evidence of any stock or materials room. No chip barrels, no wood dust, or dust collector? It's a cluttered storehouse. A true collector or hoarder call it what you will he never sold anything by the looks of it? A wealthy man should buy it all and put everything on display (large building) in working condition. A museum, Call Henry Ford museum.
