1985 065 Saleen Walk Around and Test Drive

Genuine 1985 Saleen (rhymes with "gasoline") Ford Mustang, 1 of about 130 hatchback cars built in 1985, one of five in gray. 1985 was the only full year of production with the 4-barrel Holley carburetor. Manual windows and locks, simple and reliable. This is the best handling Fox Body I've owned, bar none. It's a little bit street cruiser, and a little bit dirty old race car. Mildly modified with rear disc brake conversion and forged 331 stroker with aluminum Edelbrock Performer heads. Koni Adjustable suspension. Crisp throttle response and power, power everywhere. Easily overwhelms these tires, so please no test pilots apply.

Many genuine Saleen parts are still on this car, but the original cassette player and speakers were long upgraded. I do not have these pieces. Paint is not original and is at best a 20-footer. Most things work, but tach does not function with the MSD Ignition, and speedometer is out. 6000RPM chip to preserve things and keep the genuine Saleen parts safe, but power is still coming strong at the limiter. Sticky street tires will get you a mid-12 second ET at 110mph on the track. Odometer is in the low 100's so let's assume about 130K on the chassis.

Some wear on seats, clean but about as expected for a 30-year old car. Driver's seat bolster is split at the seam, about 3-4."
