Blast It Clean - Toledo Scale Exterior Restoration

For this project, we baking soda blasted the exterior of this Toledo Scale to remove the existing paint, prepped the surface for new paint, then re-coated the exterior with a primer and top coat. We choose baking soda for the blast material because we were concerned even with properly prepping the scale for a more abrasive and gritty material, like sand, there was still a risk of damaging the internal parts rendering the scale unusable. The video shows the before and after pictures taken during the restoration process as well as a small segment of the blast process to remove the existing paint.
