I was practicing sequence runs up and down the neck on the two upper strings (E and B) and I wonder if you have done something on how to work on this technique and building speed? What is the best way to move the fingers on the fretboard?

Heya uncle ben, I recently jammed with this guy who was a lot better than me. Made me feel like a real step dad. He pulled out all these Periphery type of riffs while all I can play are major sounding riffs. What do I need to learn and practice to be able to play the more progressive djenty stuff that doesn't seem to have a key

If you want to spice it up play it with picking the b-string twice before getting back to the lower.

Duuuuuuuuude Asturias is not a beginners piece. Lol wouldn't you recommend a simpler tune? I must add that I respect the concept. I learnt a handful of classical pieces when i started. And I've never gotten used to using a pick. So now I just started hybrid picking my classical repertoire.

Yes. I really like this song with hybrid picking. I have seen one with double picking which I thought sounded interesting, but I like hybrid picking with it more. 2 Other good songs to practice hybrid picking which have some clean parts are Badly Behaving and On Implulse, both are on the harder side, but it was worth my time learning then to get better finger independence with hybrid picking.

Mechanical skills is something to learn early to be able to practice over a very long period. I’m glad this got recommended to me!
