I want the idea that most generally good people will behave morally in games to be true, but I think there are quite a few people who just don't care. And since they don't care about whatever the game is as much as most of the players, they can do some heinous stuff without much regret.

The HC community still exists, especially now it's a little bit quieter and not so diluted. On Defias Pillager everyone in all the 60 guilds knows each other 🤷

I've seen negativity from both people new to HC as well as from people who I played HC with since 2020. I think a lot of the old guard were bothered by its popularity and more subcommunities appearing.

The biggest issues I saw were when the very big streamers entered HC briefly for content guilds, there was a lot of toxicity then. At the moment most of the people hanging around in HC streams are playing HC and watching each other play to see what they are up to which is honestly really wholesome.

There's also all the reddit posters who are always super negative about anything that people are doing to have fun. I don't understand them, but I've found it's best just to ignore them.

don't try the troll cave quest. The respawn time is not in sync with the time it takes and you risk having them respawn on you while your already in fights
